That would have been perfect. But then again, it was perfect as it was, anyway.

A curse upon you, Tom, for showing me that planned setlist! Now I'm angry cause they dropped 'The Darkness'!

DarkoG, are you from VG perchance?

Tom

Maybe we will never know but do you think that starting late ...825 instead of the announced 8pm ... may have had something to do with it ... they basically simply left out two songs (ok two songs I really wanted to hear but never mind) from the second set and, as you noted earlier, for some reason swapped chelsea hotel with heart with no companion (hopefully not because my children were present and it might lead to some interesting questions!) ....

Paul

Oops again (I must be tired) anyway, here viewtopic.php?f=44&t=22376&start=60#p239506 Tom answered this a couple of hours before I asked it

Just have to thank everyone - sturgess, Arlene, Tom, Paul - & everyone else, for the photos, videos, & reports - it's sooo exciting!! And it gives me such great joy & comfort to see that Leonard is in such exquisite form - voice, body, & soul - & also to see all the members of the band happy & on the road again!!

And Paul - I'm so happy that you had such a great "close encounter" with The Man - way to go!! - and thank you for sharing the story - it was a joy to read!!

can anyone who attended please give us all a feel for what was new and different about this part of the tour?

i know it's pretty much the same set list we have seen below but, for example, are the Sublime Webb Sisters still doing cartwheels or have they graduated from dancing to cartwheels and now on to full aerial display?

are Leonard's between-song announcements still as witty? what are they?

anything, please!!!

Thank you for posting your photo of the set list. I am really excited about the alternate songs listed. I hope to see some of them performed during my four concerts in Europe. :D

Paul Zagreb wrote:Take This Waltz was brilliant too, as Leonard interacted with first one, and then the other, Webb sisters.
I have been waiting for this miracle and the miracle has come :D Reminiscent of the interaction between LC and Julie and Perla.

Joey has uploaded more concert pics of Zagreb, some of which were not posted on his Tumblr blog and also some from the sound check. Have a look at his Flickr, Zagreb set. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fauxmantic/tags/zagreb/

He took an interesting a shot of the camera monitors at the sound check.

Great job, Joey!

Croatian National TV (HRT) reporting (includes our meet-up on Saturday): http://www.hrt.hr/index.php?id=137&tx_t ... da34392961

No access to L or venue, so the concert shots are from Live in London.

It's too early to say. Zagreb show was the very first one so for us who saw it before, when traveling abroad, had a sense of deja vu, they were little tight in the beginning and LC needed audience response to relax, but it happened soon. My guess is that in a week time or so we will see what's this leg of the tour like... Although it's basically the same setlist and tour as in 2009.

But according to local media it was the best show in history of Croatia, the show which proved that Arena doesn't have bad acoustics but it needed a man who cares about the sound, that it was divine... Now I saw empty places in windowshops where I saw LC's CDs and books on Saturday - obviously today everyone were buying LC's stuff! I am sure that if he would announce an encore in Arena, he would fill it now in few days of sale.

Yesterday, there was no much talk anymore, no band introductions after their solos (only collective introduction in prolonged Anthem and Take This Waltz). All talk was shortened to the maximum, they went from song to song. Intro to If It Be Your Will is cut off (it's recitation plus Webb Sisters now), and the prolonged talk over "too-da-dam" in the end of Tower of Songs is gone - the song is "normal" now like on the original CD. But other jokes were same ("you'r so kind" and "it goes by itself... sophisticated apparatus").

LC actually talked to the audience for the first time during last verses of Heart With No Companion, while the band was still playing, he started to thank us and everything, from the heart.

Final blessing was gone, and Kohanim sign also, we got "don't catch the Summer cold" farewell. I have to note that he didn't say nothing like "I don't know if we will come back this way again... see you down the road" - oh no he did not! ;-)
