MTV NEWS uploaded their June 14, 1993 interview with Leonard Cohen to youtube on November 17, after learning about Leonard's passing. It's 28 minutes long.

Wow! This is the interview that was used in the 2008 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony's video intro for Leonard Cohen that aired on VH1 Classic, which is owned by MTV. Listen closely:

On November 7, legendary Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen died in his home in Los Angeles. As Molly Lambert wrote earlier this week, “Cohen’s songs preach about the pleasure in sadness and the underlying sadness of all pleasure. He located firmly in the reality of the everlasting present.” His gifts will continue to give long beyond his passing. Here is a 30-minute uncut interview that Cohen did for 120 Minutes in 1993. His wit, wisdom, and incisive sense of humor are all on display, as ever, as he reflects on life, democracy, his influence, and the future.

138. Leonard Cohen

Working as a writer for most of the 1950s and 1960s, Cohen became a folk singer in the late 1960s. His minimalistic, yet impactful style would produce several noteworthy albums and songs, including “Hallelujah.” His lyrical themes and musical style would go on to influence future folk artists, noise-rock enthusiasts and indie musicians.

All 214 Artists in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Ranked From Best to Worst

112. Leonard Cohen (2008)

A Canadian folk poet whose stature has grown immensely over the years. His early stentorian songs (all of his songs are stentorian, actually) can sometimes cut to the bone, and even at their most flighty capture a mood. These remain an indelible part, for example, of McCabe & Mrs. Miller. His latter-day concerts were wild, mysterious affairs. I find his mature work a bit formulaic even at its most enjoyable, but there’s no denying how certain of his compositions have becomes a definitive part of our world, “Hallelujah” being the best example.

I just noticed that the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame went back and uploaded Lou Reed's entire induction speech, un-edited, for Leonard Cohen after he passed away, but they made it unlisted on Youtube. I had to click on the link on the Rock Hall site. Leonard Cohen's acceptance speech too.
