So, Practising Patience a bit more....

Ten is a good number anyways.

In 2001 we had Ten New Songs,
the Grand Tour was prolonged until 2010,
there's the Ten Commandments,
there's the ten Sephirot,
in Buddhism there are the Ten Good Deeds or Meritorious Actions,
in Zen there are the Ten Oxherding Pictures (which, if I remember right, were the inspiration for the "Ballad of the Absent Mare") ...

And now we have Ten More Days of Patience.

Certainly, this 10 will make us all very happy.

The P is now doing DOUBLE DUTY, AlanM. ;-)
I return to my lifelong belief that good things are worth waiting for. It hasn't let me down, yet; and the explanation for the delay underscores that it won't this time, either. :D :D :D :D :D

Hi Musicmania

Hope you are well

By coincidence, I just had the same thought and posted some remembrances of Lissadell 2010 here

By some even more strange coincidence, I quoted your review of the Saturday concert !!

It seems like if the production team needs a few more days of work on the project, then it is most likely not an announcement of a new upcoming album. Album release announcements usually let the news out into the world that a new album is coming, the title, and the release date. There wouldn't be extra production work that would be needed in that case just for an announcement. Unless of course they are just going to drop the new release on the world, ready to be listened to, and that is what the countdown is about. But that seems highly unlikely, considering the Cohen estate would be essentially forfeiting the revenue from the preorders of physical copies (cd and vinyl) that come between an upcoming record announce date and its release date.
So what does that leave in terms of what we're waiting for? Maybe a single song or a short video as a gift to his fans? Any guesses?

Ok. I read that above in Jarkko’s original post. And my point, pironi, is that a press release for an upcoming album would generally not constitute an ambitious or complex project that would need a few more days.

Well said, Dennis!

And let us not forget the Ten Days of Awe (between Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur, which is said to be the Holiest time of year, when The Eternal is most accessible to us earthlings)...

And which seems quite apropos, given the likely Awesomeness of this Great Event!

Indeed.

And also don't forget the Double Event of 2010:

Mr. Leonard Cohen being inducted into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame
and also achieved a "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Grammys.

Ten More Days of Patience.
Well put!

Quite alike another mile of silence the line that always strikes me.
Me too. --

It makes me feel like composing a little rough text about it all.
(Sorry, I guess it will be rough and sketchy, rather a kind of doggerel, but nonetheless heartfelt and honest):

Ten More Days of Patience.

Ten more days of patience
the Hummingbird commands -
Ah, sweet anticipation
of what is there to come!

Ten more days of patience
to practice on our own;
Another Mile Of Silence,
our Poet once sang of; --

Ten more days of patience,
ten more days to go -
Another meditation
on what the words left out. --

Another Mile of Silence
the Hummingbird commands -
Ten more days of waiting
considering his Love.

-- Once more, it's just pretty rough and not that good at all. But dearly heartfelt.
Blessings to all of you and let's have a mighty good Countdown!!

Dennis.
