Joni Mitchell Birthday Tribute Joni 75

Postby mutti » Tue Feb 12, 2019 9:22 pm

I attended the film last week of this concert and it was really good. Better than I expected.
At the beginning before it starts someone with an Irish accent (I think its Glen Hansard) says something like "there was always the 3 of them Leonard, Joni & Bob".
The performances are especially good and my favourites were Diana Krall, Rufus, Glen Hansard, Brandi Carlisle, Kris Kristofferson, Norah Jones. James Taylor and Graham Nash were singing as well. A highlight is Los Lobos and Chaka Khan.
Joni is there in the audience but does not sing. She is brilliant and her creativity shines throughout the film.
It will be televised in the US starting March 2 on PBS. I just saw this and wanted to alert those who want to watch it. It is a shorter version than the one at the theater.

Premieres nationwide beginning March 2 on PBS (check local listings). Streams beginning March 3 via PBS Passport at pbs.org/gperf and PBS apps. New York metro area premiere Thursday, March 14 at 9 p.m. on THIRTEEN.
