Sharon Robinson: "Goodbye Stranger"

Post by jarkko »

From Sharon:
In honor of Leonard’s birthday, I have posted on SoundCloud a new recording of the song, “Goodbye Stranger” that I wrote when Leonard passed away and that is part of the MAC exhibit in Montreal. I wrote it in hopes it would resonate with those who love his work.

It is free to anyone who wishes to listen or download. If you get a chance to hear it, I hope you like it.

All my best,
Sharon

Beautiful Sharon. The references really resonate...especially the lalala at the end. Sincerely sung. Thank you for sharing the free download. Very kind.

Thank you Sharon for a very beautiful and poignant tribute to Leonard on what would have been his 84th Birthday. I am sure he is smiling down on you.

Thanks Jarkko, for posting this superb perfect offering from Sharon!

“Goodbye stranger, my old friend
Your words still speak to us,
Tracing the heart, the love, the loss ...”

Many thanks to you, Sharon .... simply exquisite!

This beautiful song was one of the (many) highlights of the Montreal exhibition for me. I am absolutely thrilled that Sharon has made it available to us.

Thank you to Sharon for such a lovely and heartfelt tribute.

I particularly like this line, which seems to me to sum up one of the main reasons why Leonard's works resonates with so many:

"To those who know the longing
You're really no stranger at all."
