I just want to send my deepest condolences to Ms.Christina and her Family. I am sorry that I am so late, but I had posted before and my message never got thru. I am so glad to read that her Son will open the Restaurant again, I am sure this is what his Dad wanted him to do. I will pray for them that everything will work out.

That's a wrenching image of your meeting up with Christina on the path, hydriot.
I pray for peace to somehow come... though I know not how.

Hi friends

You might be interested to know that Greek police has announced
that they have arrested the "leader" of the
Georgian gang that robbed and killed unfortunate
Manolis in Hydra last August.

He was arrested in Athens area on Tuesday
while police believe that his wife (the woman who participated
also in the robbery) has escaped abroad.

So of the 9 Georgians in total that were involved in the robbery
in Hydra the 8 have been caught by now.

Thank you so much for this news, Dem. PRAYING that [unlike in the U.S.] the Greek judicial system will be sure and swift... and that, eventually, she will be apprehended, too. May they all go to prison.

According to our friend Lakis, Christina has reopened the tavern this weekend.
Let's hope work will help her to overcome those terrible memories.

Great news, I am glad she was able to open again after this terrible tragedy. May she do well and hopefully in time it will heel her wounds.

This news is encouraging... that Christina even has garnered the will to re-open. Her son is assisting her?
The people of the island will surely come together in strong support of her and give her as much help and business as they're able. The word will spread that this is a wonderful place for visitors to go eat, even if the details of the tragedy are not included in the locals' recommendations. May Christina find that following her and her dear late husband's dream brings her some comfort. Her memories must weight heavily on her, even as she moves about on those same floors, though. May time be kind.

This is such good news, Wijbe. I wish it had come before Leonard died... yet, it is some peace at least for Manolis's wife and children... and for both of their souls.

Thanks for letting us know here. I hope they don't have early release there so it will truly be life.

All the members of the gang were finally arrested.
4 of them were sentenced to life in prison and the
other 5 to many years imprisonment.

But you have to know "life sentence" in Greece
means in reality maximum 20 years in jail and
often less.

But it is sure good that justice has been served for Manolis
and his family.

PS) Unfortunately the news articles don't say what happened
with the money they stole that night from his house
