Steve Arch, R.I.P.

Post by basecamp » Mon Jan 27, 2014 11:01 pm

We are shocked and saddened. Steve was a really nice bloke who loved to joke around and it was always fun to meet him, the funniest man of the whole United Heart Touring Company. We will miss you! RIP Steve!
Our deepest sympathies goes out to his family and friends!

Thanks to Leif Bodnarchuk for letting us know:

"A few hours ago I was told our former lighting crew chief, Steve Arch, died on Sunday January 26, 2014.
Steve was certainly a character. Misunderstood by many, he had a way with local crew; at times I couldn’t help but laugh at the crazy stuff he would say. I would marvel, thinking, how does he get away with it? He could take the meanest, toughest locals, and by the end of load-in, have them eating out of his hand..."

This is sad. He served an essential and very beautiful role with the group; and, apparently, an essential role, as well, in dealing with the local crews.
He appears quite young.
My condolences are with his family and loved ones, and with the Unified Heart Touring Company in this loss to all.

Leif Bodnarchuk
just posted funeral details of Steve Arch.
http://leifb73.com/2014/02/11/steve-arc ... l-details/
From Aileen Ryan, at Neg Earth:

Following the sad loss of our friend Steve Arch, who passed away on Sunday 27th January 2014, I am writing to confirm funeral arrangements are as follows should you wish to attend:

The service will be held at 2.00pm on Wednesday 12th February 2014 at:

St John’s Sub Castro Church
Abinger Place
Lewes,
East Sussex BN7 2QA

Although there is parking available at the church, there is also another, larger parking area, in Brook Street which is a five minute walk away, this may offer easier parking due to the expected number of people attending.

After the service, the wake is to be held at:

Black Horse Inn
55 Western Road
Lewes
East Sussex BN7 1RS.

Please note that we have been informed that parking will be difficult as little space is available in the area, however, there is a Council car park opposite which may offer some spaces.

If you would like to send a condolences card, please send to Neg Earth (address below) care of [Aileen], and we will bring them to the funeral next week & pass it on to his family. The family have also requested that flowers are looked after personally by the family so please do not send any. His son is going to choose a charity for people to donate to instead, I am still waiting on details of that but I will pass them on as soon as I have them if you would like.

What a dreadful shock. Had the pleasure and privilege of working with Steve on the 90's Joe Cocker tours - which always provided plenty of challenges. Having Steve on the crew meant nothing was ever going to be that much of a problem.
A great wit, a sharp mind - a Good Man.
Just did a couple of weeks with him on the Maroon5 tour - along with plenty of fellow 'tour dinosaurs'! As usual, taking no prisoners, from production manager downwards! Brilliant.

He will be hugely missed.

Bugger!
