The new class will be inducted at a ceremony on October 1, at the Academy’s headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Oh, how much I love this, I can't begin to say. When Roy [in a thread below] said now, there were only two [awards] to go, my first thought was yeah, and as soon as he wins them, someone will come up with a new one [as in develop a new one] and then he'll need to win that, too.

Well, this one was not one of those, and Leonard was elected to it, anyway... and the list here has more we hadn't even considered. Awards have no bounds ;-) .

The significance of Leonard's election to this is immense! Not a nominee but an already elected, sealed, and all-but-delivered recipient. This honour is HUGE!!!That holds true for whether it's in the United States or for those honourary members from beyond our borders. And, of course, Leonard is a Canadian 8) .

We are SO so proud of you, Leonard!! You have accomplished so much in your life in a way that is being seen and recognized for its gravitas the world over and more every day by so many segments of societies. I am so happy for all you deserve and are being given and receiving, and you deserve to be seeing all of these accolades for yourself ~ and you are... "I'm Your Man," indeed! Those thoughts and desires and dreams you had when you were younger and at the University with your poet and writer friends are manifesting now before your very eyes. Years of diligent and committed work becoming their own and others' reward and the recognition coming back to you.

My deepest and most heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS, Leonard 8) !!!

Your words and your thoughts matter.
Your words and your thoughts will last.

Love,
Lizzy

Yes, they are actually calling it an induction. There will be 212 inducted in one day. No online bios for the inductees. I doubt they will write 212 bios for the program that will be distributed at the ceremony. I'm not sure how I should handle this one on the HALLS OF FAME site. Maybe just post the press release with a picture of Leonard at the ceremony.

It's good to see Leonard finally getting the recognition he has so richly deserved for so long, despite the feeling I can't help getting that there is a slight 'bandwagon' element to some of it. Whatever the reason, congratulations Leonard. History will not remember the bandwagon, only the just desserts of your unique talent.
