It's a hell of the article, I enjoyed it. Also, it closely shows the shocking self-refashioning Leonard made in around 1988.

I will also add that my dad doesn't know English, lived under socialism most of his life, doesn't listen to the foreign music at all, but Leonard Cohen CD is something he always can listen to for hours in his car.

What a great article! Thank you Jarkko.
Amazing how many people 'found' Leonard Cohen after that Austin City Limits airing. I was working in a record store at the time that show aired sometime in 90, 91 or 92 (not quite sure) and it was incredible the number of people who came in looking for his music! They would preface their buying with, "I was watching Austin City Limits last night and.....". Many of them didn't even remember who was doing the singing! What a joyous time that was for me, in a city which previously did not seem to have any LC fans - 'Leonard who?'. Now all these people with whom I could share my LC obsession!

Best regards,
Mary

That's a very unlikely and very good, as well as touching, article. Thanks, Jarkko... and to the fellow who sent it to you. It's very convincing.

That was fun. I wish my father would think this way, too (but then, probably the fact that he looks almost younger than me is a problem).

What I liked is the girl declaring "fuck you too". Reminds me of a day on the beach... not long ago at all... debating the essential principles on how to choose a man. What can I say, I learned a lot on Hydra!

Wow. Almost reads like a redemption (reaffirmation?) of both manhood and fatherhood.

Thanks for posting this touching piece.
