It's a wonderful news, and I wouldn't like to overlook the announcement, in which section of the Forum will this be published, Jarkko ?
I don't have much time nowadays to read all the threads :(
I hope to see LC in the San Francisco Bay area....

If and when the time comes, I will open a new section for another leg - similar to what we already have for Summer, Fall, and Pacific.
Of course it will also be on the front page of The Files.
You simply can't miss it.

That is just excellent! Thank you for sharing the news :D Saw him in Cardiff - what a fabulous night that was. It will live in my memory forever but will still be good to be able to watch a DVD

I was hoping there would be a live album of the music from the LC 2008 Tour(s)! I attended the Montreal concert on 6/25, and was blown away by the man and the music he made. I was not the only member of that audience with tears running down the cheeks during many of the songs. I could listen over and over again.

Will keep hoping there will be another leg of the Tour in 2009. If he appears anywhere on the US east coast, I'll be there! I live in the Boston MA area, and I know there are many fans here and in NY.

Thank you,Jarkko, for all you do to keep this site alive.

Gee Honey604, give us folks on the west coast a chance. You guys on the east coast already had your chance when LC toured eastern Canada. So we've got first dibs on LC's 4th leg. OK?

I just hope he plays more US cities than just Boston, NYC, L.A., etc. I live in North Carolina and if he came to Charlotte, I don't know what I would do haha. Don't know if I can afford to see him if the closest place is NY or Boston....maybe he would play Atlanta?

I saw LC for the first time ever in Bournemouth, having failed miserably to get tickets in the summer. I've waited all my life to see him, and it was the most wonderful concert I've ever been to - just awesome. If I never go to another concert now I can die happy - but Oh how I would LOVE to see him again and again and again... The Live album has been the soundtrack to my life for a long time now, so I'm thrilled that a CD and DVD will be coming out - I can't wait to see if there really are downloads of all the concerts too, that would be just amazing.
I've been trying to get in touch with LC's publishers at Random House, but nobody has bothered to call me back. I wonder if anyone else has thought about this: my favourite of his poems is OWNING EVERYTHING - absolutely beautiful. It's originally in The Spice-Box of Earth, only 33 lines, but perfect. In Stranger Music it is also printed, but only the last 5 lines, which is SO frustrating. I have been trying to find out if this is a printing error or some deliberate policy to miss out the major part of the poem, and come up against a wall of disinterest. What does anyone think? Could it be deliberate or an error?
Thanks so much for this forum - it's wonderful.

Hello Circe
Just a quick suggestion for you: you're more likely to get a reply to a question as specific as your one about the poem if you create a new thread with the subject clearly identifies - so people who may know the answer are more likely to spot it (if you're lucky, the Fount of All Knowledge, Jarkko, will have the answer).
Best,
Habie x

Thanks to Habie for (too) kind words, answering questions is more or less based on good sources, well-informed contributors and an archive that is growing, thanks to the activity of our friends here and around The Files.
I have not asked Leonard about the poem Circle mentioned, but knowing how carefully the book was compiled, I am convinced that the shorter version is intentional. This is not the only edit of the poems included in the compilation!

Thanks for your comments - I guess I assumed the precis was deliberate - it just happened to be the one poem I have loved and quoted since was 16!! I love this forum - Jarkko do you know if LC is planning to tour the UK again next year? I just want more and more, and it's a major event for me to be able to get to a concert as I'm a full-time carer for a very ill daughter, so it needs a LOT of planning!!

jarkko wrote: Slownight: the DVD that will be released in March will have the whole O2 gig, but no out-takes from other concerts.
However, I don't think you need to worry about the other songs. ;-)
Jarkko- having witnessed Leonards indescribably good concert at Manchester on 30 November, I too was dissappointed to see that FBR,Chelsea Hotel & particularly The Partisan will not be on the DVD.
Your reply above gives hope saying 'don't worry about the other songs' :)
Can you give us any clues if we may be able to see these 3 wonderful performances somehow?
Thanks and great work with this wonderful site!

Indeed there might be some hope - not necessarily the Manchester performances of these songs, but from somewhere along the way.
But don't expect anything to happen in the near future. I can't comment with any details as no decisions have been made.

It would be so great to have some 'extras' on the DVD. I personally would love to get hold of copies of the official videos that the record companies have released in the past... love watching them on youtube!
