If I weren't a monk I would be jealous. Nobody wants my baby! This is shocking in a Catholic country where that event would come close to the immaculate conception!

Sean / Daka etc.

damellon, I'd love to make myself available for lidnu's front seat
But
1) I already have a backstage pass
2) I value my personal safety and with fisher issuing threats well..... ;-)

God bless,
William

William
I wasn't recommending you for lidnu's front row ticket.
So, you're going to be backstage.
Given your point No.2, I am willing to offer my services as bodyguard for the evening in exchange for an opportunity to accompany you.
The competition to which MFL (unkindly) referred was Miss Scotland the Brave.
No swimsuits, no stiletto heels, no declarations of altruism.
Rather the ability to face down a bad-tempered Belted Galloway and lead him quietly barnward.
Surely Fisher doesn't present a greater challenge than that? :D
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.

Lidnu I think you should pick Damellon. If anyone can talk their way backstage, she's your woman! Can't guarantee Leonard will pick you above her though. You'll have to be a real stunner. I have already had Leonard Cohen visit my hotel room and read Beautiful Losers to me, in Manchester, as many of the people who were there will attest (the people in Manchester, not in my room). I'm not ready to take things any further just yet. So I don't mind where I sit at the concerts, provided of course it is always next to a funny clever handsome Irishman.

(you'll never convince her to pick a girl, girls, you know that don't you?)

Peculiar that apart from Sean all the men have gone shy...

Whatever man you eventually pick L... if you find halfway through the evening that he was the wrong choice, you can swap your seat with me.... I will put up with sitting beside anyone just to be a few feet away from Mr Cohen, even for one song.
Diane, you lucky woman and you did not want to take things further?.................... oh just give me the chance! ;-)

Jesus, I hope Leonard has some bodyguards! You ladies are starting to remind me a bit of the days of Beatlemania!

What can i say Sean... Leonard has a timeless sex appeal. I wouldn't say no to him. ;-)..............
But relax! He is perfectly safe, even if I get to within a few feet of him, I won't be like a crazy woman.

We have no idea how many PM messages she received, Diane! How many offers of camels and oxen and jewels, etc.

By the way, I am starting to understand your reaction a few weeks back when you said that even the mere thought of this Dublin congregation had you running off to a darkened room! I am getting a little nervous myself!

There is no need to tell such lies, Miss Scotland. I do have proof. I still have that picture I took at our last meet up,
I'll let Lidnu see for herself

That's what i said, what was unkind about that.

Oh how I am enjoying this!

Ladies.. I am honour to be counted among you. Looks like the balance has tipped in the direction of the resident Monk. Yes, at approximately noon Pacific Standard Time, we became engaged. The negotiations were long and grueling. I am not at liberty to say just what the final decision hinged upon, suffice to say it ought to be memorable. Thank you for all your wonderful theories as to why I should have choosen a female escort. To be truthful, Sean tickled my fancy. And, I'm thinking that Leonard might just be intrigued by the Monk(ey) suit and invite us BOTH backstage. I'd like to say that I will be able to dazzle the Cohen with my beauty alone but it can't hurt to play just a little dirty. Besides, when referring to my looks, my mother always replied "you'll pass in a crowd". Under the circumstances, I don't think that will be too helpful.

A word about the shy males amongst us... boys, boys, you snooze you looze! Take a lesson from the sheep in wolves clothing. Also: Apologies to anyone offended by my reference to a 'consolation prize'. Very politically incorrect to be sure. Sean's cool with it, though.

Lidnu

Firstly, congratulations on your engagement. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we wish you a long and happy tickle with the monk, formerly known as Tanya. We have clubbed together and are sending you a plywood violin as a wedding gift. :?
You know, of course, that we are only joking about beauty being important - none of us is as superficial as that. Honesty, an absence of oneupmanship, loyalty to each other - these are the hallmarks of Leonard's female Forumees. ;-)

Might your mother have meant you'll pass out in a crowd? If the Monk proves to be memorable and you are overcome with weakness, and the St John's Ambulance men carry you off to the First Aid station, insisting on keeping you there, recumbent, til the show's over...... I bags your seat. :D

Thank you all for your generosity and grace! I would be happy to give that ticket to all of you. It was Linda's decision, however and I am happy to be her escort. I will probably be the only monk in the audience, so I do suspect that perhaps the Buddhas have been at work behind the scenes.

Great crack today

I doubt that it can get much better

Since I am being 'invited' to the front row I will have one ticket to give away for that Saturday night performance, hopefully to an Irish afficionado. Any suggestions?
