I just went on the Ticketmaster site to see if any more tickets were available (I've been checking every few days as I wanted an extra ticket for a friend). I got one straight away - BK 112 row Q. It's at the side but is still a pretty good seat (I think). :D :D

Hope there won't be any trouble with the acoustics at the 02 on the 17th. Also going to see him the night before in my native Scotland at Edinburgh Castle.

Seen him twice before in London: at the Albert Hall in 1974 (restricted viewing, tickets cost 75 pence) and at Hammersmith in 1979.

Can't wait to see him again, never thought in my wildest dreams that this tour would take place. Thought his gigs would only be preserved in my memory bank.

sorry tointerrupt, jasmina .... and i doubt if photography is "allowed" (though, in the size of the 02, who can stop you? reading the comments after the Canadian concerts to date, flash photography is the number one hate of audience goers).

i was just going to note here that today (Sunday 8 June) in the UK on Channel 4 between 1440 and 1615, there is a Take That concert from the 02. Maybe a chance to assess the venue?

Still looking forward to the event on 17/7,

A.Sukitu

Has anybody here bought tickets to sit behind Leonard? They sold Blocks 113-118, didn't they?

I'm sure it will be interesting to sit behind the stage, with 20,000 people looking right at you! :)

I hope someone here writes an account of what that's like. It must be like being in the band. . .

When is the best time to get there? Will he be around doing soundchecks before the stated start time of 6:30pm?

I've never been to the O2 before so I might get there during the afternoon and have a wander round.

Try and get there early. There was a shambles recently when the nearest underground station was closed on the night of a concert. The venue is large and fairly soulless but it has the advantage of allowing lots more Leonard fans to see him in the flesh! Before this tour I had only seen him once, in Madrid on the 1992/93 tour. Having just come back from seeing him in Oslo, Helsingborg, Copenhagen and Aarhus I'm missing him already BUT I'll be at the Arena on Wednesday!!!

For anyone who doesn't know, a group of us are meeting up in Greenwich for lunch and then the Trafalgar Tavern. We'll be catching the boat to the venue....full details are in the "On the road/O2 meetup" section.......

We have tickets for Tutankamun at 3:30 in the afternoon. The exhibition was recomended by my aunt.

I have also received an email from the O2 listing paces to eat and drink

I have a warm feeling, and why is that?

I had thought that the O2 concert would be the last time I would ever see Leonard, so it was going to be a bitter/sweet experience, but hey... With an autumn tour in Europe, maybe I'll just jump on a plane and go to ...

It's gonna take me quite a while to get to the O2; I'm not in the best of health and I want to minimize the time spent doing nothing, listening to nothing there as much as possible (I can't eat out so won't be able to avail myself of all the eateries, etc.). Does anyone know whether anything of interest will be happening between 6.30 and 8pm? What time are you all planning to turn up at the venue?

Bela -
Hi! I used to be "Annie from Scotland" when we conversed weeks ago, anticipating seeing Leonard at the O2 (I changed my name to A.Sukitu to be 'less pretentious' ... ). I have hurt my ankle and am walking with a stick and am meeting up at the Trafalfar Tavern in Greenwich in the afternoon - we are then getting the boat to the O2 at 5.30 pm from Greenwich. Why not meet us at the pub in the afternoon? I have been assured that there is not much walking involved, and hopefully we can sit in the pub. I read on the thread that there are about 70 expected, so the crowd should be obvious ...
Hope you can make it.
ps are you taking binoculars? I hear that they search bags (though binoculars should be ok!) I am also told that it is likely that there will be a big screen to watch...
