Book of Longing Paperback (different cover)

This may apply to the UK only, but BOL is coming out on paperback next week:

It has a (slightly) different cover which I actually prefer to the old one.

It's UK paperback from Penguin. Canadian and US paperbacks are the same as hardcover versions.

I'm not sure if others have encountered this, but I ordered Book of Longing in paperback from Amazon.com and within a week, it fell apart. The binding fell off and packets of pages came out in a clump. Amazon refunded half of what I paid for it, but what a disappointment.

Welcome to the Forum, Deer Woman . I believe I remember you from the Chatroom several years ago.

How incredibly disappointing! Even getting ALL of your money back wouldn't address that. That's fine, financially, but not really the point, at all. Having the book intact as a quality piece of Leonard's material is what matters. Do you think they've just started mass producing them through some cheaper and obviously lower-quality binding process? You can get a ten-cent novel paperback that holds up better than that !
