Real country music there, Kush. Very enjoyable. There is a programme on BBC Radio 2 this Sunday, 12th May at 15.00 with Tom Russell talking to Johnnie Walker in 'Sounds of the Seventies.' It should be interesting.

Hello Kush,

The interview is about one hour and twenty minutes into the show if you can eventually get it. It lasts about twenty minutes. He discusses, briefly, his career with its various turns. The only song of his that is played is 'The Joshua Tree' with a discussion about it. It is an interesting and amusing interview.

Anne & I were fortunate to see Tom at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn last Saturday night. He was joined on stage with Dave Alvin and Jimmy Dale Gilmore who had performed at Blues Fest earlier in the day. Here is Tom and Dave singing "Blue Wing" a song they wrote together.

There is an interesting and informative link on Tom Russell's Facebook site to the folksinger Rosalie Sorrels.

Just saw this B4Real, thanks I should have posted it here-after all it is my small claim to fame in the Madison area! Doug and his wife are very nice and we had a great time with them that night.

A review by Canadian folk/roots reviewer Mike Regenstreif of his top nineteen albums for 2019. Leonard Cohen is at the top while Tom Russell is second. I wasn't completely sure where to put this posting!

Another version of 'Roll the Credits, Johnny.' It is related to the the film ' Road to Nowhere', directed by Monte Hellman, who also directed the cult movie 'Two-Lane Blacktop' in 1971.

Thanks Tony. A little different, this version.
I haven't listened to TR in a long time and am hearing Mesabi now. I was wondering whether the title of the movie was related to 'The Road to Nowhere' and just checked his facebook page to find that it is indeed the title song of the movie.

Hello Kush,

Yes, I saw the link on Tom Russell's Facebook page. The film 'Two-Lane Blacktop' had Dennis Wilson and James Taylor in it. I enjoyed Warren Oates performance. I think I still have the video somewhere.
