Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Devendra Banhart

Postby kleinschmidt » Thu Jun 10, 2004 11:48 pm

Just wanted to post a topic concerning the new rise-to-the-stars singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart. I just bought his new album today (rejoicing in the hands) and it's amazing. With the voice of Jeff Buckley and the guitarpicking as a young Leonard Cohen he's a breathtaking experience. Buy it now, buy it buy it buy it, just go out and by it or get someone else to by it for you. For more information about Devendra Allmusic.com is a good place to start.
One last thing.........buy it

devendra is the future. "rejoicing in the hands" is an excellent album but i recommend starting from the begining with "oh me, oh my." either way, though, you can't go wrong. there is something so joyous and magical about his music...it's almost inexplicable- you would have to hear it to understand. he is a true bohemian.

there are some samples here, on his labels site:

enjoy...
how strange it is to be anything at all...
