Toronto gathering

Post by Joe Way »

Just got off the phone with Dick Straub and we've been discussing a trip to Toronto for the Philip Glass premier event to be held in conjunction with the Luminato festival in June. While we don't want to compete with the Hydra gathering scheduled for about the same time, this trip might be more feasible for those of us in North America and allow us to gather together with friends old and new.

Dick has been in touch with the some folks in Philip Glass's organization who say that the premier will take place on June 1st with 2 other performances on June 2nd and 3rd to follow. The venue, the Elgin Theater, does not yet confirm this so it is too early to buy tickets and probably to book flights, but we decided that we would try to get it on people's calenders if they are interested and inquire on a possible hotel room block.

Dick and Linda and Anne & I plan to arrive about May 31st and will stay until the following Tuesday or Wednesday, June 5th or 6th. We are hoping that a group of interested people can spend some time together, have a meal or two, and perhaps see some of the Toronto sights as well as attend the festival.

We'll try to keep you posted and if interested, please contact us.

Hi Joe ~

Are flights out of Toronto to Berlin [no, not a typo, just more inexpensive to round-trip to/from there, and then Easy Jet to/from Athens] cheaper than out of New York... or does a Toronto departure mean going through New York, anyway... I guess I should be asking about Toronto to Berlin vs. Jacksonville to Berlin... and you'd have no idea of that, anyway  .

Well... I guess it's up to me and the Internet with a calendar.

Hi Lizzy,

It would be great if you could come to Toronto! I'm not sure that I can answer your question, but I've used kayak.com often to compare different flight prices and it seems to work well. One caveat, though, it doesn't search for Southwest which seems to be the U. S. version of Value Jet so you might want to check that also.

Good luck and hope to see you.

Hi Joe ~

Thanks for your welcome :D . I'll be checking to see if/how I can arrange something. I'll check with kayak, as well. I know there's an airline here [Orlando] ~ one of those really small ones with their own airport in, apparently what appears to be when going there, a subdivision  [according to the description by my friend who told me about it], but some really great, financial deals!

It could work out very well in several ways, a visit to my Mom and to Judithia, being not by ANY means the least!

Thanks for the info that may assist in this. Even if just for the one night of the performance, that would be fine.

Hi Lizzy,

That's right I forgot that you have family in Michigan-hope it works out. Also hope that Judith decides to attend-I understand she doesn't live far from there.

I would DEARLY love that, too, Joe... but she tends [well, perfect track record, so far... ] to not do so ~ PLUS verry verrrryyyy busy in other, really crucial areas... so my visiting her in her home will be much more do-able, all the way around... thanks for your expression of that GREAT thought, however... gave me the chance to not feel like I'm exerting pressure, but still say what I did 8) !

<*ahem*> Ummm, er, ah . . . Well J3, so you don't git lynched and feathered and wrapped in some dumb mummikins' outfit, I think you'd better make that HONOUR. L!

>. . . and I'll toast you... with mine.<<

Lizzy, you know I don't drink; but, given the fact it is our *TOM* we're toasting, I'll happily raise a Shirley Temple in his HONOUR (even though I don't even like pink; and, it is pink, isn't it?). Hell, who cares what COLOUR it is; it's most importantly because Tom is our FAVOURITE CROUATIAN, hehehehe . . .

C U L8R, if my Ed. lets me out of Cell Hell (at the molecular level, Lizzy, most likely, I'll be nuthin' but a moron, er, muon neutrino by then).

Love, Jf/ox

Wait a sec! Ain't I the psychick? You posted after I didn't post the post I posted, right? Right. So, Joe, if Lizzy wants to ask about Hydra, she'll have to ask moi.

Geesh! You two got kinks on your wavelengths or what?

That's true (when it comes to you). I've actually been gobbling up the BoM thread/s. I read one prayer (or, sometimes I call them "petitions") each morning, have done for years, in fact; love this little gem of a book. Hesitate to intrude because I think it's cruising along jes' fine.

p.p.s. Lizzy, black needles? Can we do a black needles? I'd be fixed to be tried. (Don't worry, sarcasm is just one of the many services we offer, Sweets)

Okay, MOI... what's the word on Hydra, prescient psychick sauvant 8) ?

Do you see Mythos in my near future?
Hesitate to intrude because I think it's cruising along jes' fine.

This is how I feel, too, 'cept when it comes to you. As always, there will always be much you can add. Intrusion and your joining in do not belong in the same concepted sentence. I have not been reading one prayer/petition every morning for years. Still, in light of your needing to cruise in other directions... their cruising along will do just fine, too. They sure are.
p.s. If Mz E-Z can swing it; I might be able to go; it's all up to her . . .
I can drive your vehicle, no problem... just some logistics to work out.
If you ladies will join us, Joe and I will wrangle up whatever color virgin needles are desired.

Sounds like a deal to me. Big D on your right, me on your left, and Joe at the table, too. We toast to Tom. You SURE you can't make it????

Hi guys,
If Mz E-Z can swing it; I might be able to go; it's all up to her
That would be great! Dick & I will mix up Red Needles to match Joseph's Technicolor Dreamcoat-now all we need are a few more people to make this another event to remember. I'm still basking in our Brooklyn memories so take a chance folks-I'm working on good hotel rates as we speak.

Joe

P. S. Judith, I know you are busy, but certainly your thoughts in the BoM thread would never be an "intrusion."
