San Sebastian 1988

Post by Birdonawire » Sat Oct 13, 2007 5:14 am

Just watched this video of Leonard performing One of Us Cannot Be Wrong in his 1988 concert in San Sebastian, Spain on youtube(at least that's where it says it is on youtube). It's an excellent performance and the guitar pieces are amazing. Even the backing vocals are spot on(as one would expect from the ladies). It all just seems to come together brilliantly. I commented on the vid that Leonard seems to be under the influence, but totally in the moment when singing this song. I find it really intense. Does anyone else agree?

My main reason for posting though, is that I would really love to hear the whole concert on CD, or, even better, see a video or DVD of the performance. Does anyone know if a video of the whole concert exists? If so, how can I aquire a copy? I would happily trade or even pay for a copy. Or maybe I could just beg?!

Hi Bird
You should have come to Toowoomba, Andrew showed the whole thing. It was a long with several intervals so I naively thought Leonard was a bit tired, but I could be wrong.

Here's two more from the same concert.

Eric,

I will bring a dvd of the whole concert for you to Camden/Barbican next Saturday.
In fact I could make a couple of extra copies too - either first requests or some kind of raffle :?:

Thanks for the links B.M. The more you learn about the guy, the more there is still to discover. Pure genius. Watching these other performances made me feel even worse for not having the whole concert on DVD. But then along came...

Margaret, you are an absolute angel :D I mean it. You are. This site just gets better and better. Not sure how I can repay you though. But for a start, the drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) are on me next week. Now, with my faith in humanity restored...

...it's off to the pub.

:D
