But maybe I'm just obsessed with lineages and wish that people have good and best versions:-) Like, that BBC, is that bootleg version (OK), or complete soundboard version (exc.)? Because it has One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong as last track, which was cut from Live at the Beeb bootleg, and speaker's parts, I guess it's soundboard which emerged in 2001. But I can't see 14th song, Story of Isaac?

You should make a README_BEFORE_DOWNLOADING with the information you on the tracks, i am willing to rename, remove warn or whatever but i don't have much material on lc yet so... also if you see some missong song, please tell me and ill add an .INCOMPLET to teh folder name.

Maybe rewrite the welcome message to tell people to be carefull that most of teh files have been compressed and should only be reproduced as "Rip and Re encoded." Hopefully people will not redistribute the files but just give the FTP address.

I prepared 5 or 6 shows in mp3 format. Philadeplhia May 1st, 1985 is up, others as I can (ftp just bumped me out, but I suppose it's temporary; I'll connect again).

Unfortunately, it appeared that I lost many of tracklists (Word files) in recent moving in and outs and changing computers. But in one box, I found 10 unpacked shows I traded for in Summer 2005! Totally forgot about that. What's life...

Radio recording from Goeteborg, 2 May 1993 is also up. I like that particular recording very much, The Future in its most rock moment.

And most complete known version of soundboard recording of Birmingham show (partial) and soundcheck (one song missing) from December 8, 1979. Its shortened version with little worse sound was known under the name Rare Songs. This is the CD made from the original soundboard tape from which Rare Songs were compiled. The sound is better and there are some new songs.

In ten minutes everything will be up: Hannover soundboard of November 11, 1979 (containg rare Ballad of the Absent Mare, and unique Take This Longing after 1976 tour, plus many nice contributions from Raffi on violin and Bilezikjian on oud:-), and also soundboard recording of Royal Abert Hall, May 30 1988. Few songs are incomplete, but this is the complete 2CD version as emerged from BBC studios.

The final gem is Rare Live Songs Vol. 2 fan-CD. Contains many rarities, incl. Recent Songs outtake "Misty Blue" (bad copy of studio tape).

Tom wrote: (some guy from US digitally cleared the hissing and sound).
You probably mean me.

And you said it right
- "cleared the hissing and {most all the} sound" : )

In most cases, essentially flatlined the whole dynamic range.

I am really sorry about that .

And I know that I should at least have included some info
inside the mp3s.
However I didn't (-and still don't) know anything about the origins of the songs,
and also I didn't (and essentially still don't) know how to put info inside mp3s.

That "cleaning" was my first lessons in how to use adobe audition,
and I did all in one long two-day sprint
(- which is why it's called "twoshakesofalambstail"

It's very frustrating you know,
because there are about a hundred interacting controls
- actually more like a few tens of thousands,
- and it's not hard to improve one thing,
but that always seems to have to cause something else
to become worse. They all interact.
And I was going over and over the same things,
and I never would have put any of it up if I didn't arbitrarily
cut off fiddling with them at some point.
I had to do it fast or not at all.

When I realized I should at least have put info inside the mp3s,
I thought I should wait to do that until I at least had the info,
and also better mp3s, to do it with. But that never happened.

(You can always use md5 (or some other kind of)
signatures. Some such thing should have been routine a long time ago I think.)

Tom also wrote: can't upload videos (I have very interesting stuff here), because decompression from DVD to divx takes ages... I never succeeded with any of the movies I tried to crack from local video club:-) It says "50 hours" so I rather burned the DVD (although I prefer DivX format).
Tom - consider the Plextor ConvertX PVR model PX-TV402U.

It does a hardware encoding directly into DivX
(it's the first one that does it)
and it's much less demanding on the pc side
(like 2 or 3% vs 80 or 90%) since the compression
is done in real-time by chip in the box, not software on the pc.
And the DivX mode is actually even less demanding on the pc
than the MPEG-2 mode, since the signal to the pc is thinner.

The only problems with it at the moment that I've read about
are that it doesn't have a remote "blaster" or an s-video out.
However, everybody says that it does its basic job excellently.

blub:
The Plextor ConvertX PVR model PX-TV402U is
the ultimate personal video recorder for the PC.
The PX-TV402U allows you to connect to a satellite TV,
cable TV or broadcast TV signal and record programs to your PC.
You can then watch the video from the PC or burn it to DVD for playback
on a DVD player. You can also connect a camcorder, VCR or DVD player
to record home videos to the PC.
The heart of the PX-TV402U is its multi-format encoder chip
which converts video to the DivX®, MPEG-4, MPEG-2 and MPEG-1 formats
as it is being recorded to the PC.

Hope you like them.

Thanks! - I have uploaded complete shn-sourced soundboard of NBC's recording of Warsaw 1985 (complete show, correct setlist). It was televised, but never used or transmitted. (It is said they were hoping to record some riots.)
[lc850322-1]
source: pro-shot video (NBC unused footage)
length: 79:57 / 66:22 - 146 minutes (complete)
details: surfaced in 2004. For unknown reason, "Hallelujah" is clipped at the beginning. Video is available but not widely circulates.
sound: very good to excellent (B+/A-); some distortion. Best circulating version.

DISC 1 - (79:57)
1. Bird On The Wire (7:30)
2. (talk) (3:16)

12. So Long, Marianne (5:55)
13. I Tried To Leave You (7:44)
14. (talk) (1:59)
15. Tennessee Waltz (4:32)
Also, complete shn-sourced soundboard of Montreux Jazz Festival mastertape. Correct track order, without radio speaker. (The version with radio speaker is radio mastertape - over this tape, speaker was added, so this is closer to the original recording).
[lc850709-2]
source: pre-FM soundboard
length: 170 minutes (complete)
details: off-master, high quality transfer. Very minor dropout @ 0:26 of d2t01 "Avalanche".
