Can the topic be about 'kittens' please?
I like kittens and so does Albert, but he prefers them with tomato sauce.
Most peeples of the werld like kittens and mummy cats like kittens as well.
If the topic isn't 'kittens,' can it be about 'kittens' instead please?
There's lots of kittens in England and in Wales as well, and other places.
If the topic isn't 'kittens,' Albert will cry.
If there's one thing that Albert likes as much as kittens, it's double entendres. So can he have a topic on 'double entendres' please?
Albert also likes Joe Way and often looks at the photos of 'Uncle Joe,' as he calls him, from the New York Event. Albert says hello to uncle Joe and is sorry that he had a problem wiv his 'packers,' whatever they are.
Albert says it's time for my medication.................zzzz.....zzz....zzzzzzzzzz
"Bipolar is a roller-coaster ride without a seat belt. One day you're flying with the fireworks; for the next month you're being scraped off the trolley" I said that.

Hello poets,

Since no one has bribed me in a timely fashion, I am removing that option. You are all now to rely on your poetic abilities only.

Due to a last minute appeal by a friendly bear, I will no longer automactically disqualify any entry that mentions the word "kittens." That was going to be the sole exclusion but Albert's reason prevailed.

The rules, timeframe and the topic will be revealed tomorrow.

Good luck to you all.

Joe

Thanks Paula, I totally misread Joe's post. Whew! Glad I don't have to write a Leonard Cohen/concert themed poem.

Looking at the cross-section of people I know will be participating, I can tell you we're going to be getting some dynamic, kick-you-know-what poetry coming through these pages pretty quick here 8) .

Paula ~ You tickle me with your, 'It was hard writing on that theme of seedy hotel' comment [obviously not an exact quote] ~ according to you, at the time, it wouldn't've mattered what the theme was, it woulda been grueling! You who did so well in the competition, by the way 8) !

[Tee-Hee] Somehow [wonder how], I suspected that ~ and I know that's right, Paula! And you've seen the topic by now, right? Well  ! I've got your back, if you've got mine. We may become a little circular in the process, but oh well. I think I may try to write the poem I need to....but I may go with one I simply want to.

LOL ~ Thanks for the tip, John  . In reality, I'll be lucky if I can muster a single poem. Multiples out of the question. Possibly, the one I may be able to muster will not go in for competition. This is one competition where I'll be able to enjoy everyone's entries without feeling compelled to offer up one of my own. I won't go into the why's of that, but it's true as anything could be.

Lizzy ~

You're not going to enter? Shame, shame. I'm not either, shame, shame. Too shy and there's no T-Birds as prizes. It will be interesting though!

Aha! A clue - another 'ie' hmmm...what could that mean? Puzzling.

I've never been so quickly and unceremoniously dumped! However, your last line sure doesn't justify with your signature  .

Dear John [in the non-proverbial sense] ~

N-o-o-o-o-w-w-w-w-w you're talkin' ~ and a testament to the worthwhility of protest  . I 'specially like the humourous, "But I cannot spell your name the same way twice" .
