Tribute to Leonard

Post by George.Wright »

Too wist too woo
the owl cried
and in his eyes
the poets danced
and the gays did prance
and the whole human race was in a trance
and the lovers banged
that whole sweet mystery in the sky
and why the fat guy did eat pie
and the devils so, so very sly
and the reason to live or die
and the crystal's in Huxleys eye
and that's no way to say goodbye
and famous blue raincoats hitched high
and the disaster in the manhatten sky
and knowing the wrong for the right
and the gift of the second sight
and the beauty and the beauty of glimpsing the divine light
that don't make it right
the fun's in the fighting and not the fight
the secretary does run into the night
and the flowers not plucked but it begins to die
never, never knowing the reason why
we all will go to that great big carnival in the sky
and sing that's no way, no way to say goodbye
Love to all on this Board...............Georges

George,

I was wrong.

This is the most ridiculous poem I have ever read.

But I am certain Lizzytysh will hasten to tell you that she likes "the flowing sound of"

and the lovers banged
that whole sweet mystery in the sky
and why the fat guy did eat pie...

Could it get any worse.

Nothing is ever so bad that it can't get worse, sadly.

I'll just try and get better to please you guys, it may take me a while, so cringe or go on a binge of disdain.

There once was a writer called Wright
who, when told that his poems were shite,
said: "Sure oi don't give a dam'
-tis the way that oi am"
whereupon all the buggers took flight.

Cirucs

When the philosopher lost his stone
and the marble lanterns glow
far from the fields below
where all is skin and bone
and your children now are grown
so the tiger turns to go.
Then the clown comes back for fun
and he passes round the hat
and he lets you stroke his cat
with the barrel of a gun
when you'd really rather run
from the thing you're laughing at.
It's a momentary crush
in a wacky wild beast show
and wouldn't you just know
that the three back rows would push
Oh I hear the toilets flush
on the days of long ago.
