about time
Re: about time
... your speedy post forced me to have an edit in that last one... I'm afraid only the experts here would know the cryptic message being conveyed here, although for what it's worth
much later edit: I suddenly got the urge to leave a dangler..

Re: about time
Dame Llon, and what of Lord Mickey, what sort of tease is he being? But yes, if you can repeat that post after a good ol' pint, then you might sneak past your gent...

or is that "passed" your gent -- Manna?
.. much later note: I'd deleted the post in question, I'm afraid (this trip down memory lane feels to me to be brutal sometimes), but still I agree it would have been a mouthful..
.. oh, and I have no idea what all these edits were for, so they must have happened after I'd first posted this..

you can join me for some homebrew, but not for, oh, maybe 2 months-ish.
I have a pointless blawg that I post to every few months or so for my family. Maybe I'll post about my brewing.
Re: about time
... I get confused with the terms "past" and "passed"... get past your gent, or get passed your gent?... I don't know, I'm always questioning which term to use for some reason, must be a glitch in the system... nothing some home brew wouldn't fix I guess, as the word would become pissed then... v.

Re: about time
In either case, I don't know what you're asking. Is it past my gent?
Is my gent my husband?
Is my gent my husband?
Re: about time
Manna
Vi is asking your guidance on whether she should use 'past' or 'passed' when she writes 'past your gent'. Either she means - to go beyond her/your man/husband, or she means an intention to abandon the gent and hand him on to someone else. She's using 'your' to mean 'anyone's'. Obviously you are her chosen mentor when it comes to the written word.

Re: about time
Lady Llon, thanks, I think you may have cleared this up. So, I think I had it right, then, to sneak past your gent, as in move around him... Lord M., your thread has been most instructive... Manna, you are resident Grammar Nazi, n'est pas?... I just took a risk with the French, don't do much French... v.

Re: about time
eye roll hereby applied to self. I didn't notice where the phrase originated, and was wondering what the heck.
