Such a terrible sight. What destruction ... It's the last thing Hydra (or any part of Greece) needs on top of all it's other troubles.

This is just unbelievable, and very upsetting to watch. The power of the water is terrifying. Thankfully, nothing has been said about people dying or getting injured. I feel badly about the mules and wonder about the cats and the dogs. The property destruction appears substantial.

I saw a link on FB yesterday, Wijbe, but every time I tried to click on it, I got a pop-up warning me of malware, so I finally gave up. I tried Googling it, but couldn't come up with anything, so I appreciate your bringing it here.

Here's another link, posted by Chrissie Bowles on FB. Horrifying. That man was risking his life sticking his leg in the torrent of water:

And two weeks ago, walking down to the sea at Kamini, my daughter asked me: "Does this river ever fill up?" Hydra in winter is very different from its beguiling enchantment in summer.

I'll watch your video in a minute, but my comment on FB was regarding those beautiful sparkling white alleyways and walks so temporarily gone. Ironic that they'll need to use the water from their hoses to wash off the residual brown of the mud!

Now, I'll see what your video shows.

Lots of flooding also in the UK over the last week - especially in the beautiful lake district where there has been record rainfall.
Just incase this is indeed a manifestation of man made climate change, i hope for meaningful outputs from the Paris conference , now coming to an end.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said the negotiations were the "most complicated, most difficult, but, most important for humanity"
