Re: Picture Show of 2012 Madison Event

I wanted to post a couple of observations. Two of our participants have died in the ensuing years. First Yoshio Tanahasi who traveled all the way from Japan with his wife Keiko and Bob Showalter who's wife Carol was the Leonard fan. Carol and Bob ended up sitting right behind us at Leonard's concert...

Re: Picture Show of 2012 Madison Event

For the dinner and dance, we had the Klezmer band, "Yid Vicious." Unfortunately there weren't any recordings from that night. As an aside, Linda Straub had handed me her phone while we were on Union Terrace and it was Esther Cohen and she was very excited that we had a Klezmer band for the...

Picture Show of 2012 Madison Event

I am very pleased to be able to post a newly put together picture show from our Madison Event in 2012. Many thanks to Jarkko & Eija for the pictures and Ken Kurzweil for pictures and videos. And a special thank you to Wybe for putting it all together in his usual wonderful fashion. https://www.i...

Re: Memorial Box Set re-scheduled to 2021

Hi Lisa, First of all you realize that it is a numbered set, if I recall correctly of 300 boxes, so many, many would be a subset of that. All I can say is that I was asked to test out the original website and those folks told me that sales despite the negative comments here were brisk. I'm am very s...

Re: Memorial Box Set re-scheduled to 2021

While I don't have the depth of information that Jarkko & Marie have, I am very confident that our money is in safe hands and will be returned to us and that we will eventually receive the Box Set. Despite the few negative comments that appeared on the forum, many, many box sets were sold so the...

Re: Waiting For The News To Come

Dear Jarkko, you, Eija, Anne and I have become such close friends in the ensuing years since I entered the old News Group and we attended the Hydra Event in 2002. We all owe you a depth of gratitude for what you've given us. No wonder that Leonard and his family think so highly of you. You are gener...

Re: Montreal Leonard Cohen Memorial Commemorative Box Set

https://youtu.be/YH4Hnxy5gnQ Dear Geoffrey, As always, you get to the heart of it. Thank you so much. Just an additional observation, after the Madison 2012 Event, the left over merchandise was much in demand -we love our Leonard Cohen related stuff and this big box of things is a great addition!

Re: EVENT POSTPONED

I'm just here to say I have been thinking of our postponed event since Facebook reminded me that yesterday would have been Day 1 in Ghent. While we are very sad to be quarantining here, we look forward to next year and seeing all of our great friends at the 2021 Event.

Re: Montreal Leonard Cohen Memorial Commemorative Box Set

Marie, Jarkko & Robert Kory had asked me to help them test the website which I most gladly did. In appreciation, Robert Kory sent two of the pins included in the set, one for me and one for Anne. They just arrived this morning and they are understated and elegant, they will fit in very well with...

Re: All LC songs ranked by popularity (based on 50 million listens)

The most surprising thing to me was that "Treaty, String Reprise" was the least liked song on his 2016 album. It is my favorite-otherwise I understand the rankings.

Thank you Goldin for compiling this!
