Re: Question for Jarkko on early entry

Jarkko - you're going to be in San Jose? I hope the forum followers can get together - I'd love to thank you in person for all the work you've done to bring Leonard into my life.

But he's still dancing cheek to cheek! So he's not done yet. An inspiration to me, at least.

Re: Nashville Concertgoers

Light as a Breeze has a nice country western twang to it. Beautiful steel guitar, too. I'm also looking forward to something maybe a little different from what I've been listening to on the Live in London CDs for the past 4 months. (Not that I would object in any way if it were not different at all.)

Notice I said "fall" to our knees. And didn't mention getting up. Hopefully he'll look away and give us a chance to help each other up gracefully.

Re: Who's Sitting Where in San Jose?

I'm getting so excited! I've been trying to think of something fitting to give Leonard, and I keep coming back to dropping to my knees, which would get across the feeling, but would hardly be noticeable . . . . unless done by all the Cohenites in the first few rows?

Re: Leonard Cohen-Israel-Huffington Post article

Thank you for this article, Dahlia. I agree with your reading of Song of Isaac. One of the things I love most about Mr. Cohen's work is the multiple layers, so apparent in the resonance between kill and help, between can and must, between son and father, between sacred and profane, between holy and ...

Erotic Despair

Is that really a musical genre? There's a CD for sale on eBay (an imported Death of a Lady's Man concert) that lists Leonard's genre as "erotic despair." Oh my. Erotic, most definitely. But to me, more about erotic appreciation, sensual exploration. Much more about hope and longing and red...

Re: Happy Birthday, Leonard!

I cannot begin to tell you how much you have come to mean to me. I have started this greeting 5 different ways, have written two poems and an essay, and for the first time in my life drawn a dirty picture. (I suppose it would be bad taste to post it here.) You have given me a name for my Higher Powe...

Re: Leonard collapsed in Valencia - but is doing well again

He may be 75, but he obviously has more energy than most people of any age to keep up the schedule he's been pushing. Hope he gets enough love and energy from his fans and his traveling companions to rebound easily. What a world we live in! To get twitter straight from Dino. So reassuring.

Re: Words LC pronounces better than anyone in the world

Yearns from Joan of Arc - I just got Songs of Love and Hate a week or so ago, and I can't stop listening to it. And I have to admit when he sings the Wisdom of Old in Live in London, it goes straight to a certain part of my anatomy. As his voice has deepened it has become so visceral. I keep editin...
