Jazzfest Webcast

On Sunday, April 30 from 2 pm to 7 pm and again on Sunday, May 7 from 2 pm to 7 pm tune in to http://msnvideo.com/jazzfest That link doesn't look right to me. Seems like there should be a www. in there, too, but that's the link sent to me in an email. You might try it both ways. The email didn't say...

Mother Theresa is soooo cool. Her dictum, "Anyway" is really something to live by. The calendar of saints is chock-full of bodacious women. Another of my favorites is 12th century Hildegarde of Bingen, who, among other things, invented sheet music. Before she devised a way to annotate soun...

Yes, nogs, do use "Dance Me..." as your bridal waltz. But may I suggest you use the version on the "More Best Of" CD rather than the one on "Various Positions." In my opinion, the version on "Various Positions" is much too screechy with the female vocals. The ...

I just noticed this thread. And of course, since I've got a thousand other things I SHOULD be doing, instead I'm reading this stuff and wisecracking about it. Boy oboy, oboy. It never ceases to amaze me, some of the wild interpretations youse guys come up with. The actual lyric reads thusly, and wit...

Ok, here's the local scoop: Springsteen's band will NOT be the old E Street guys. Instead, he'll be playing from his new album, which is a tribute to Pete Seeger, with new backup group called the Seeger Sessions Band. The album is called We Shall Overcome:The Seeger Sessions . The 13-piece band feat...

Springsteen, Etta James added to Jazzfest

As of right this minute, it's not even on the Jazzfest website, but it's all over the local news. Fest organizer Quint Davis just held a press conference and announced it. Also Herbie Hancock signed on, a bunch of others, too.

Ok Nightstalker, Lizzy, Kush, and whoever--listen up ! Tenting will be allowed in City Park, a very short walk from the Festival site. There is a fee. More info can be found at the Jazzfest link. Click on Chat. But here's a possibility we can keep amongst our own Merry Little Group: I've also found ...
