Re: Coming So Far for Song

We've seen Ali and Thieves several times now, including their first NYC Fringe festival performance with Esther Cohen. Her beauty and amazing talents always blow us away. Congrats Paula for a great addition!

Re: How to celebrate Leonard's 80th birthday

How would "80 years" be expressed in Greek? My vote would go for the LC signature as used by Marteen on Vegas name tag lanyards, (and on the hood of his car), the unified heart, and the 80 years in Greek. If more is desired, I'd use "Came So Far for Beauty." For the Chelsea plaqu...

Re: How to celebrate Leonard's 80th birthday

Many great suggestions here. I like stone bench with back for comfort and inscription -- B4 real thought of integrating into a natural existing stone wall has much appeal. Also like "Came so far for Beauty"

Tiny LC movie sighting

Have been postponing comment awaiting someone else to call attention. Since no one else has, here goes: In Kate Winslet Josh Brolin movie, "Labor Day," there is a brief sequence where Kate thumbs through her record collection. Lenny's smiling face pops up, but not the full album cover. As ...

Rufus at Kennedy Center

CBS is providing delayed coverage this Sunday at 9pm of Kennedy Center Awards. Think Rufus does very well. Promos for the show have a snippet of him doing "Piano Man," and Times review right after the awards said the Rufus finale "brought down the house." Think he also does "...

Chelsea Hotel Photo book

I am very pleased that someone documented the Chelsea Hotel with a photo book prior to the extensive renovations. Nice that her name is Cohen, but doubt any family connection. :) http://www.fastcodesign.com/3023355/exposure/a-photographic-tour-of-the-notorious-hotel-chelsea?partner=rss Merry Christm...

Julie and her son

Since I'm not sure how many of you are on Julie Christensen's mail list, I am copying her latest message here. I thought all would like to see her status update and request for support for her son, Magnus, and his SUNY film project. I very much look forward to seeing the film! Be sure and follow the...

Re: Julie in NYC on October 29

Thanks for your interest Mary. The show was mostly poetry readings, and one pianist with a short song. Julie expected to have a full 20 minutes, but coming at the end, her's was cut a little shorter. Different shows staring at 10 and at midnight. Started her set with a Velvet Underground song, Jesus...

Re: Julie in NYC on October 29

The show was consistently entertaining, and the best news was that Julie looked great, was in fine voice, and closed the show with a wonderful solo of Anthem. Brought tears to Esther''s eyes. Very hip and popular venue. Enjoyed getting together with Sue, seeing Crista from the April dinner, and a ch...
