Re: Tour Diary

This tour diary is awesome, keep up the good work, I love it. Yes ! This is such a find - (MEB, whoever you are, thank you! ) Highly entertaining and a great insight into the realities of touring. Very informative too - I now know which direction to lie in when sleeping on a bus, and that some posh...

Certainly wasn't a problem at Lissadell or in the O2. Having said that I intend not to bring my camera and just savour the concert this time - at least for one of the concerts!

Yes, you would think so! But each level of the pyramid ( see Leif's highly entertaining tour diary) blames the one above it for not providing the information. Surprise... :)

Re: Leonard Cohen's Dog

Thanks for this photo of Nova. Hope it is a recent or current photo? Also hope that my own 2 rescue dogs get to that age ! I do think it's sad that Leonard never wanted another dog - I think we have all felt like that after the loss of a beloved pet, yet somehow we start again... But then he doesn't...

Ireland = Euros

I'm sure you enlightened Cohenites coming to Ireland for the concerts don't need to be reminded that we're in the Euro zone. I only mention it because I met a French visitor recently who had changed all her Euros into Sterling to come here, and then had to change them all back again! :D

Indeed it is! We'll be glued to this for the next few days anyway - I trust Met.Eireann more than the others as they don't chance their arm with spurious long range forecasts.
As you say, not looking too bad so far...

Re: Lots of good seats for Wembly released

If I make it, I will keep my unbroken record of seeing Leonard every year that he has played in the U.K., since and including 1970. Yes, John, delighted to hear this! You, Vicomte, and just a few others have a longer record of loyal support of Leonard Cohen than many who make more noise on the Foru...

Re: DUBLIN 2012

Leonard will be on stage at 7:15, sorry for delay. It was only confirmed today. pauleile Well done Pauleile! Official confirmation at last. ( Although the more people think it's 7 the better - less annoying latecomers then. )This basic information has been guarded like the 3rd. secret of Fatima unt...

Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band

''The dogs bark and the caravan moves on.' Proverb. True, Tony, and we are becoming increasingly aware of what a well-oiled business machine the caravan is! I agree with you Mary about all the interesting posts here and if we are into picking favourites I particularly liked Cohenadmirer's quiet ref...

Re: Concert Reports

Thank you for your detailed explanation, Jarkko. Of course you are right - the "I was there" thread would get very long eventually! (Although having one for each venue rather than for each concert might help.) Strictly speaking, on a thread called Concert Report there should be nothing but...

Re: DUBLIN 2012

I suggest packing your thermals at the very least. Thermals in September??? It's been positively balmy here in the south for the last week. 8) It does get a bit chilly at night, yes, so something warm is definitely needed - I saw a few women in Lissadell shivering in clothes more suited to t...

Re: Concert Reports

I want to hear from people who were there but I can't be bothered to look for the eyewitness reports amid all the YouTube and other links. It's almost as if we need a separate thread for people's personal responses to the concerts. Wendy That would be much better, Wendy. Any Mod. prepared to try it...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Halden 29. August

'Save The Last Dance..' It's a fun song and makes a good end to the Concert. Hope it comes back soon. Hope so, Cheshire gal - as soon as Dublin! I liked the (original) Drifters long ago and at least it's a new song for LC. So what if "wee Daniel" from Donegal has covered it too - he's suc...

Re: Dino not in the band

Leonard Cohen does not have a band, he has hired session musicians. That is disgracefully dismissive of people like band leader and arranger Roscoe Beck, co-writer Sharon Robinson and (absent because of illness) Bob Metzger who soldiered with LC through the hard times. I doubt if LC would describe ...
