now of sleeping

Hello great Gatsby First, I need to say to you that you should start by reading the poem aloud to yourself several times and think about what YOU think it is saying to you. I am sure that is what your teacher wants you to do and why she/he has probably deliberately chosen a poem that you can't just ...

You've come through again! I am now listening to KCRW interview and realising I should have joined this forum years ago.

youtube

Thanks again Lightning I have found that youtube is a great source of Leonard Cohen sightings, especially as Australia has been so deprived of visits and he just never appears on our television or radio. I have payed for iTunes downloads to hear interviews he has done recently. ps I also enjoyed the...

Thanks
It was interesting to listen to (what were the visuals about though?) and compare to the poem in Book of Longing. He has changed some of the words and now I am wondering if it makes a good song or a good poem or both and why did he make the changes?

I bow to the master

I met a man who lost his mind
in some lost place I had to find,
follow me the wise man said,
but he walked behind.

a girl in a paper boat

Hi Lizzy I pirated it from the cover of a book, The Red Tree by a wonderful Australian illustrator Shaun Tan. I love books as well as LC's music and now Tom, through sending me to visit the mixtape rule site, has put me on to another Nick Hornby book I have to read-Songbook. Those of you who enjoyed...

DOALM

Wow Tom I am new here but you are a font of knowledge on things I never knew I wanted to know! Rules for mixes, I'm going there. Previous songs and unreleased albums, I'm feeling the urge to search. DOALM is my favourite Cohen album because I first heard it as a teenager and if I was making a mix fo...

monsieur camembert

Thanks Andrew
I'm not that close but it sounded like a good excuse to spend a long weekend in Sydney. I really like their version of The Guests they have just posted on myspace.
I will also think about the Toowoomba gathering.

Has anyone heard monsieur camembert?

This one is for Australian fans. Has anyone seen them playing live?
I am wondering if this guy and his friends are worth seeing live or will I hate their versions?
I've heard the samples on myspace and I am not sure.

essential cohen seems incomplete

Disclaimer: I am new so forgive me if this has already been said. It is a shame that Leonard Cohen, in selecting from his work for this collection, neglected Songs of Love and Hate and ignored Death of a Ladies Man. They are both sentimental favourites of mine, being among the first albums I owned. ...
