Re: The 10 most underrated Leonard Cohen songs
...p.s. Don't you just love the way all journalists generalise? ;-) Ha-ha! Of course, to avoid making unjustified generalisations (mind you, one could argue that most generalisations are unjustified), a person merely has to say, "many, most, some, a lot, quite a few", or even better, &quo...

Re: The 10 most underrated Leonard Cohen songs
Underrated by whom? Regardless, I think that "underrated" is a poor choice of word for this article's title, for it implies that people know of the thing in question and do not rate it highly. However, the author of this condescending piece of drivel provides no evidence to support ...

Re: never-ending gallery
absolutely fantastic, both your picture and the interesting article. i am not sure if this is three different poses of the same chickadee or if it portrays three different chickadees. the one on the right is recognisable as the little fellow that perched on your finger, but they all look so lovely,...

Re: never-ending gallery
...stay well, dear friends. you don't emerge from the shadows very often... I am staying well, thank you! I haven't posted any home-made pictures for a while, and so I have emerged from the shadows to do so. Yesterday, I was thinking about the little chickadee friends I met last year, who so bravel...

Re: never-ending gallery
...you may have heard that [Bowie] was hit in his left eye with a lollipop while performing. it went straight into his eye... Ouch, that looks painful! What are the chances of that happening? Glad he was not injured, and that the crowd enjoyed many more songs! Thank you for the good wishes: it is c...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums
Hey, 4, I do recall your mentioning on the forum that you'd been to that December 2010 concert in Las Vegas, but I do not recall having met you, although there were so many forum members there, it may well have happened! I do remember most of the people whom I ended up hanging out with quite a bit, ...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums
Famous Blue Raincoat is one of my favourite songs, too, and like Alan, I love many different versions of it, although I much prefer the live versions that end with the original "Sincerely, L. Cohen" lyric, rather than "Sincerely, a friend". I once listened to that song at four in...

Re: Far Out magazine article on Leonard’s lyrics
That was a good article, one of the better one's I've ever read about Leonard and his work: a nice assortment of lyrics, discussed intelligently and respectfully. Thanks for posting!

Re: never-ending gallery
Regarding David Bowie's eyes, despite the fact that they did, in some photographs and images, appear to be two different colours (which is a condition called heterochromia), that is not the case. Both of Bowie's eyes were the same colour of blue, but one of his eyes had a permanently enlarged pupil ...

Re: A feast of Leonard
For some reason, Ireland’s national broadcaster is featuring Leonard Cohen big time at the moment. Click on to RTÉ.ie/culture and look up the articles. The concert orchestra did a show which will be broadcast on the 25th at 21.35 GMT. Check it out. I don't understand why they're doing this? You don...

Re: never-ending gallery
Lisa, your thermometer must be broken. Hold a lighter underneath it for a while, that should fix it... I wish! (Are you being serious? I can't tell.). No, it really was -38 that day (in the middle of the city) -- it was even colder in the outlying areas, -46, apparently. I do live near the North Po...

Re: never-ending gallery
...oh no, what's going to happen with those beautiful little chickadees who sing their sweet little songs - poor things!... Happily, chickadees are far more reslient than humans, and are able to survive outside even in -40 temperatures. Luckily for them, it snowed just before this cold-snap (before...

You guys are little rays of sunshine. (That's sarcasm, I don't mean it.)
Look on the bright side, you don't live where I do: this is a picture of my thermometer outside my kitchen window, taken moments ago. It's a tad chilly.
