Re: Passeio Maritimo.Lisbon.!9 July
Hi If LC's site announced that he will play in Lisbon must be because some sort of compromise is fixed. The curious thing is that the events in Passeio Maritimo tend to be free (access to everyone), but I doubt that this particular event will be like that as everybody knows that a LC's concert is ea...

Re: Book of Longing CD
Thanks, Dick I suppose it's as you say - the visual side of the performances must help reaching the effect Glass meant to. Too bad the schedule does not come next to me :( Whilst I am confined to the music in the CDs I must rely on imagination to build a play. Sadly none of the songs succeeded so fa...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
So, next March 11th everything will become crystal clear official (and the gold rush will start ).
Master Jarkko, any idea of about what time will the announcement be happening? I reckon the EuroFans will wear the browser's refresh button while the sun makes its way to wake up Los Angeles ...

Re: Book of Longing CD
Hello, I got my BoL copy last weekend and after hearing it I was puzzled as I was not challenged by the music as I did expect but, on the other hand, was unable to recognise LC's own style (that was predicted safely). My feelings are that Glass composed and arranged the tunes as if they're meant for...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
Good afternoon, So, in Europe we have Glastonbury (Avalon, England) by the and of June, and Montreux (Switzerland) in early July, both announcing that LC will be there. If the European leg of the tour is to happen in June/July, we may be lucky to miss all those football fans who are heading to the E...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
Well, if Chuck Berry still rock & rolls at 81 , I don't quite see why shouldn't LC surprise us all...
Though everyone knows he tries to divert the spotlight from himself, I'm sure he knows everyone will be waiting for him as he is himself and no one else is.
Lenny B. Goode for us!

Re: How were you first introduced to the words of Leonard Cohen?
Hi Cate, The first time I was struck to LC's words was in the late eighties - 88/89 - thanks to his songs "First we take Manhattan" and "Take this waltz" (from the "I'm your man" album) that were constantly being played in the radio. I was in college by then and couldn'...

Re: What should his tour be called?
I recall seeing - at the time "10 New Songs" was released, in the official website, I think - a snapshot of LC with the caption "Happy at last".
"Happy at last Tour" might be approprite as well...

Re: What should his tour be called?
If we just look at his last 2 albums (which he didn't tour as yet) and consider the circumstances, the available tour names become quite endless... and even if we think we've listed all the obvious possibilities, LC will bring his own choice that can only be self-evident and typically ironic! 8) Any...

the concert is much more than the OST
I was in Dublin 2nd show and I believe it is a thrill to have so many talented performers singing LC's songs. Most of the show is not included in the OST. If could vote for my favourite song it would be Lou Reed's rendition of "One of us cannot be wrong" - rather than imitating Leonard Coh...

Thanks for the welcome, Lizzy. :) I do prefer to believe that Madeleine does like the songs and sings them in her own way - naturally different from Leonard's or Anjani's. When an artist covers a song always pays a tribute to the songwriter, especially if he/she is also able to write (as Madeleine h...

Blue Alert songs covered
Hello, Happy New Year for everyone! you gotta check out the US jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux and her albums Careless Love (2004 - opening song is a cover of Dance Me to the End of Love) and "Half the perfect world" (2006 - that feature covers of Blue Alert and Half the Perfect World that t...
