Hi Makera. I just came across this post. And though I once told you "Fiddle Faddle" Midnight is so right, this is funny! It's hard to take a critic seriously after reading this poem.

O.K. Bee I have to apologize for this one. I goggled as Lizzytysh suggested and it seems George Bush didn't have anything to do with it. My apologies. It was a Muslum man living there in the Netherlands who objected to a film Theo had help produce. It was a gruesome murder.

Oh no Lizzytysh. I said you and Critic2 were on the same "grand" scale. i.e. Grand Prize Winners! I confess I still don't really care for it. But that's just my opinion. To me your poem is just a description. My problem with modern poems is that you could take them and write them out in se...

Thanks all. This poetry writing was a surprisingly fun thing to attempt. But I wouldn't want to make my living at it. I'd starve.

Thanks for the explanations Critic2. It makes sense about the pausing and the rhythm. Still not sure about the Heaven Trail. :)

I like VivaVinyl but there are a few lines that could use some help. sent Peggy-Sue on Heaven trail a centre-hole his Holy Grail but bad idea for this frail female And now she’s more dead than frail Big Johnny charged, no-bail What is a Heaven trail? Wouldn't it be better to say Heaven's trail? And ...

Laurie, Lizzytysh, A question -- Do we have to claim our poem? Publically? I'd just as soon not announce myself as the author of my poem. :)

You had tough job Laurie. Especially while you were so sick. The poem that won was a good one. Though more of a "goofy" kind of poem. Not so crazy about the second grand prize one though. The best in my opinion is Brown Hotel. In fact I think it brilliant and the best of the lot. I can't w...
