That last message of mine was for Tom Sakic who is way back on page 1 or something - maybe someone here can enlighten me. I had never heard of Sharon before Leonard. What exactly is it that she has written? I know she co-wrote a few. I know that on 10 NS Leonard says somewhere that she wrote and pro...

Tom, I'm really sorry you like 'Be For Real' so much as to have had the Future named after it, but it isn't Leonard's song. If you recall at the end of the song he says "thanks for the song Mr. Knight" - a musician on the CD.

I could be wrong here. Probably as I'm relying on memory but isn't it - The wind is blowing, through the graves the wind is blowing? I was going to add that to some of my favourite lines as well, but it really isn't a Cohen song is it? I don't know what it sounds like in its original form - so he ge...

I, also, am somewhat ticked at Leonard's apparent "laziness" in terms of output. Naturally, I would like to see him scribbling away 24/7, however, quality is often sacrificed for quantity. I haven't heard Dear Heather in its entirety, but I didn't care much for 10 New Songs. The songs I have heard f...

Yes Byron, I most certainly do think this thread is slanting in a most surreal direction. However, I'm not afraid. I've learned to deal with all manner of catastrophe. So, no, it wasnt' just you. Albert pours your tea, also? Nimble feet on that one, I'd say. I was intrigued by your knowledge of Cana...

Don't forget Byron, you're Yak has about 3-4 thousand miles of frigid terrain to traverse before he reaches the Western shores of this little outpost of yours.

Holy man! Byron, I can't thank you enough for enlightening me on the subject of quality control re: Your Native Confection. Believe me, I will never refer to that minty tasting, white stuff as mere cake ever again!

Should I spot a yak next time I go downtown - I'll know my ship's come in.

I think that the majority of the people whom I've run into who don't enjoy Leonard are those that haven't taken the time to become really familiar with his lyrics. Within his lyrics there is something, somewhere that speaks to everyone. It's been my experience that people are often turned off by Leo...

All busy in the sunlight
The flecks did float and dance

You are absolutely right, Lizzy. I didn't really get the impression that the identity of the would-be Leonard was forthcoming (whoever it is in the picture is now enjoying being mistaken by thousands of music loving Brits as our beloved Leonard). And as for the non-photographer guy goes, he didn't g...

I agree with you there. A Thousand Kisses Deep is a great song with many great lines. In the Blackening Pages there is verse after verse of this song. In the end it makes about three songs. It's kind of interesting how Leonard explains the process.

What did they say "complete cock-up"? Oh my. Well, now that the non-photographer got fired we may NEVER know who that guy is. They could have at least told you something or at the very least make something up to appease you (and me at this point). I can put this topic to bed with the knowledge that ...

Well Tom, you got me. She does indeed do Bird on the Wire. The critics seem to be focusing on Hallelujah more than any other I think. Whatever one might think of her choice of music she does have a very lovely voice.
