Could a Canadian plaster themselves in Maple Leaves? I know some of you have been there before. I missed out last time but would just love to go....can anyone give a very broad estimtate as to how much a thing like this would cost...? I have family in Copenhagen with whom I could stay before/after i...

Hi, I just posted in Poetry and Novels or whatever it's called waay at the bottom of the page. There is some info on an upcoming Canadian book feature on the CBC (Canadian public radio). Oryx and Crake will also be a feature (Oryx with a y, but sounds like Oryx with an i - English is a very stupid l...

Hi all :D I just thought I'd comment that every year our publicly funded radio station the CBC has what is called "Canada Reads". Five Canadian 'luminaries' are picked to pick their favourite Canadian book. What follows is each person giving their reasons as to why their choice should be the winner....

As this CD has been picked over and analyzed to death by now, I'm not going to bore everyone by going over it song by song, by likes and dislikes. I'll just say that I like it much more than I thought I would - it will take a few more listenings to get a real feel for it. Thanks to Tom Sakic for fil...

Yes, it is true that people can find humour in anything (thank goodness!). It would be pretty bleak if we always have to look at the dark side. In defense of my country men and women, there is some great Canadian literature out there. I'm currently reading Margaret Atwood, again -(Robber's Bride) - ...

It is so strange how the opinions of others can flavour one's own 'taste' of an album. I'm listening to DH for the first time in its entirety in the proper fashion - full blast. I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like The Letters so I expected to be disappointed - I LOVED it. I wasn't crazy ...

By strange coincidence I'm just listening to Undertow for the first time - I must be the only one who just rec'd the CD and thus far I'm agreeing with you Karri.

I know that I don't really have any part in this conversation which sounds rather personal. However, I just wanted to comment that it seems, at times, that we must pay sometime, in some way, to have experienced the ecstatic 'rush' of being in love. It's been said that 'love hurts' but it's usually w...

It is true that the new Cd always sounds the best (unless of course it is simply awful which DH certainly is not). But I had to go with FCC - I love all the acoustic instruments, I love the gypsy/ethnic feel and Leonard was in very good form. Everyone was in good form, I think. Jennifer does lovely ...

Just one more thing I'd like to add, you did mention that some conerts have been paid for. If you are the promoter of the tour you should contact STIM as you might need to pay your Performing Rights license fees! Simply because a concert has 'religious' content, does not necessarily mean that it wou...

As an addendum, I have usually been one to read more into a lyric than is necessary- you should hear my take on There For You - it certainly doesn't jibe with the interpretations I've heard so far. I think I'll keep my thoughts to myself on that one for a while. Maybe one day I'll share my thoughts ...

Well, as I tend to lean toward brevity  I'd just like to thank you for your insightful and articulate reply to my post re: Smokey Life. I like your take on I'm Your Man as well :D . As far as Smokey Life goes, your view almost got me to thinking about jumping the fence...however I guess we'll ...

There is always the possibility that Sony is partly at fault as BUDGET is the bottom line with most record companies. With the recent merger of Sony and BMG and with Leonard probably not at the top of thier roster, production pennies are probably doled out with great reluctance.

3Cees - you don't have to explain yourself to anyone about anything if you don't want to. I didn't know that you felt as though the "perhaps you missed the point brigade" was on your back. Music is a matter of taste. It is subjective. You like 10 NS, me? not so much. That's all. I haven't been in a ...
