Re: "come sixth from the icloud of uncle knowing . . ."

Since I was a young woman I have had a compulsion to take bank notes out of the tills in shops. Where I differ from weird persons like Sir Chris, is that I do not care if the notes are straight or crumpled, as long as I can escape the shop without arrest. I wish we could take the thread back to disc...

Re: "come forth from the cloud of unknowing . . ."

I agree with Geoffrey, for rather obvious reasons. I started this thread in a spirit of the most respectful enquiry. The beautiful responses from my old and, if I may be so bold, old friends as well has been a credit to Leonard's memory. I love you all

Chris/Geoffrey.

Re: this year's man

you promised me that your Number One New Year Resolution would be to stop those "special line" phone calls, once and forever. I used to think it was a harmless addiction, from which, as publicly documented, you had suffered since school days but Damn it, Sir Chris, it must be costing you a fortune. ...

That comment is both sexist and racist. It promotes a negative gender stereotype as well as slurring the reputation of an entire nation. Well Done, Sir Chris.

Re: Susan takes me down

As Sir Chris never tires of telling us, he was born in France. Accordingly, I find it curious that he writes cafe when he should, naturally, be writing café. If there are two things I detest it is Reverse Snobbery and Sir Chris's calculated insouciance are both of it. May I add, as my old Mathematic...

Re: "come forth from the cloud of unknowing . . ."

but none of that can be compared to the construction men outside my home who work all night, their faces black with smoke and tar, their backs bent over as they stressfully shovel and rake boiling asphalt behind huge, noisy paver vehicles in preparation for the waiting steamrollers. when i see this...

Violent has got a point, Chris. I suggest Alphabetical. Violent prefers Benedictine but I'm having Nun of that.

Re: "come forth from the cloud of unknowing . . ."

As my old deputy head teacher, Mr Winnie O'Hooligan, used to say "let's hope it doesn't descend into mindless Violet, someone should be hurt". He never explained who that someone was but I think we all knew somehow. He also used to point to the road sign outside the school gates marked "Bedlam 2 mil...

Geoffrey also used to write here under the name Jack Lazari UK which was a subtle alias! He used an anagram of Lazarus ("he rises again") and UK is the island where Geoffrey was born and raised til he was batmitzvahed. The rising again is at the heart of this investigation being run here by Sir Chr...

Susan takes me down

Susan takes me down but Leonard lifted me up piled high with joy overflowing I drank from his cup A school girls crush Back in the fifties Never in a rush he moved swiftly and nifty He left us wanting more Like an encore Now Robert Kor why did Len have to die? He had so much to give If only if if if...
