Re: Listen to new Leonard Cohen song

For those of you are familiar with Dylan, "Almost like the Blues" is reminiscent of "What Was It You Wanted." Especially the breaks after each verse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irKxESOvo-E Doesn't come close to What was it you wanted. The production on that track is superb. (Daniel Lanois). Th...

You will finish in the horse water container, head first.

I'll take the last drag of whatever you have in that roll up any day. ;-)
Jeez. Or should that be J--z.
You decide.

Re: Bob Dylan - European Tour 2014

You and I will never agree on Bob's current live performances Vicomte, and I respect you for that. I was at both gigs in Ireland and am in awe of Bob's stage presence these days. Arrogance, showman, or just a "song and dance man". Who knows? Only Bob. I would pay good money (if I had it)to see his d...

Re: John Prine

This is sad news indeed. I knew that John had cancelled concerts due to ill health, but didn't realise that it was this serious. I remember seeing him a few years back just after his last brush with cancer and he spoke openly, but emotionally, about that time. I wish him well this time round as well...

Re: Dylan back in Europe

Talk to me about this tour people - Talk to me. Went to all three concerts in Glasgow and can quite honestly say Bob is in tremendous form. (This coming from someone for whom these were Dylan concerts 171, 172 &173)People who went expecting a greatest hits set, were sorely disappointed. However the...

Yes Wybe, a credible version from Antony. Heard him a few years back performing it live.

Vicomte - you and I have several discussions now about the 'old' girls. 'Nuff said. ;-) :D

Re: Isle of Wight 1970 photo of Leonard

I am thinking his apperance is influenced by Mandrax more than wine. M Yep. Have to agree Friscogrl. A cornucopia of chemical compounds was the norm back then. My point exactly. Wine was only used to top up the body's need for liquids. And to be polite. And, actually , Lizzie I was aware he drank w...

No disagreement from me that some crushed grapes have been inbibed Lizzie. Just making the point that his pupils ( and recorded history) tell a different story.

A 2am rise is never good for your looks. I'm sure even you'll agree.

If It Be Your Will

Whilst we've (ok - me!) have been enthralled over the past five years with Hattie and Charlie's rendition of If It Be Your Will, surely this is the definitive version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4nNIAfs4DE As CBS' 60's blurb said "Nobody Sings Dylan Like Dylan", surely there are no dissenters t...

If you've read anything about that time Lizzy (or had been there), you'd realise that Leonard is stoned in this photo. As he was throughout the 1970's.

Not wine'd (sic) as you so innocently put it.

Agree. Great photo.

Great photos Gwen!! but you know I love the hands :) You and me both Bev ;-) Now I am putting a call out for if any one has a video of Bird on the Wire from the second night please upload it as that performance was out of this world. The song is always amazing live and while I'd felt last year in M...
