Very eloquent, Glyn !! Although I somehow associate LC with the LA smog, traffic & SUV (did I read somewhere that's what he drives ??). My vote would be Austin, Texas (NY, NY is fine too). And talking of Dylan....I'll be seeing him in concert next month so here's a hint Mr. Cohen !! I like to see my...

this Montreaux concert is really excellent. It's the most energetic/rockin' LC that I think I've heard. There is a War is fantastic. But another gripe (in addition to Diamonds in the Mine): Why, why does he sing Famous Blue Raincoat exactly the same way as Dance me to the end of Love. He sings FBR r...

Thank you for your recommendations, Andrew and Linmag....although I'm more a music person than a book person. Maybe one day I'll be inspired...... But Andrew...could you elaborate a little on how reference specifically to the Torah/Old Testament answers the original question of Billy which was if LC...

Oh, I think it is just Billy who posted the question....I saw Billy Sunday somewhere else and remembered it. My apologies to Billy.....

Andrew, you may well have a point...could you elaborate a little on how reference specifically to the Torah/Old Testament answers the original question of Billy Sunday which was if LC was questioning the wisdom of old ?? To be honest, I've never read either the old testament or anything by LC...so m...

I don't think LC has ever written anything that is blindingly obvious...
And I seriously doubt if it was exclusively the Torah/ Old Testament. Maybe from a Western viewpoint it is so......

I really hope LC is no more than 5' 2'' and weighs no more than 180 lbs. Coz' that would really spoil his music for me. I'll never listen to him again...although I have to admit that my admiration for him would go up since I can't imagine a person taller than 5'2'' can produce such a marvellous voic...

Ah.....Songs from a Room - it takes you to a certain peaceful, slightly otherworldly, nostalgic place that not even TNS can enter !!

Lizzytysh.....I got the Montreaux concert from a friend on this board who apparently got it from SpiceBox@ ?????. No I am not referring to the song itself....only to the Montreaux rendition. The original studio version of Diamonds in the Mine was almost a theatrical performance that conveyed added m...

I am hearing this Montreaux concert for the first time and I must say, the pop/rock arrangements was quite a surprise (in a good way). Something different...... But the real shocker was Diamonds in the Mine.....I'll reserve judgment on this one until a few more hearings. It's pretty, it's nice, it's...
