What happens until the Summer tour?

I'm very excited to hear I will get the chance to see Leonard live next summer. It has made me wonder what happens between now and then. I wonder if the break in the Old Ideas tour means that he will be doing something else in the first part of the year, a new album perhaps? I had heard that the ori...

When,Where,And What Was The First LC Song You Heard?

I was a real fan of Suzanne Vega when I was about 13 and loved her poetic lyrics (and still do). She often mentioned Leonard as an inspiration in interviews and also told a story in a concerts about an early love affair between her and a boy that began because they shared a common passion for Leonar...

Leonard Cohen E-books

The morning, after enjoying the Wembly gig last night,I have just noticed that the Apple ibook store has added some Leonard titles to download.

You can now get both the novels, Book Of Longing and Stranger Music.

I still love books more and have them but handy to download too!

CONCERT REPORTS: London, September 8 & 9

A wonderful gig with Leonard performing his heart and soul out. The apology was interesting with him saying he only found out about the change as we did. He made a veiled remark about the dark side of business and how he never 'gets to shake or crush the hands' of those behind it. He did seem quite ...

Lots of good seats for Wembly released

Just had a look at the Eventim website and suddenly there seem to be lots of really good seats available in the front blocks for both Saturday and Sunday night. Yesterday there was hardly anything.

Looks like they have released some that were being held back.

Hop Farm into Wembley Arena doesn't go!

I think the capacity was very similar for both Wembly and the Hop Farm. The normal Hop Farm Festival is standing, this wasn't. Looking at eventim, it seems that sales are great for both nights, with virtually all of Saturday gone and some towards the back on Sunday. I know it has been a really diffi...

Re: URGENT: HOP FARM SHOWS TO WEMBLEY ARENA

I suspect we will probably never know the full reasons for the Hop Farm venue change. This article from a local Kent paper has a quote from the Hop Farm people saying A message on the Hop Farm website states: “We have received information from the organisers of the Leonard Cohen concerts on the 8-9 ...

Re: URGENT: HOP FARM SHOWS TO WEMBLEY ARENA

I'm going to risk buying seats now and get a refund. Row 13 not bad and to wait longer seems risky.

But like you say, how can they fit everyone who bought a front seat, if they are already selling them to new people!

Lines that get you every time

To every heart love will come
But like a refugee

UK CONCERTS

I think the change in ticket pricing for gigs generally is also due to the fact that the economies of the music industry have changed. Before mp3 and illegal downloading artists made the majority on album sales and gigs were there to promote sales of such. Now, artists make much less money on albums...

Symbolism of 'Different Sides'

It is a great song and so full of tension. I had interpreted it more as being about divisions along the line of the Christian right vs liberal - expressed through a couple's altercation. One "on the side of the meek and the mild", the other on the side of "The Word". And the chorus about wanting to ...

Re: Hop Farm UK 8 Sept announced

Thanks for the update Jarkko. It does sound like an odd situation that the promoter has announced it and an on-sale date before it is agreed properly. I wonder if this means the public on-sale for Friday might be delayed? Tricky, as it's hard to know when to take time off work to ensure I get to the...

Re: PRESALE on March 29 to Gothenburg/Dublin/Paris

Dear Ronaldson,

Thank you, thank you for sorting that out and sending the link!!! I managed to get a great seat for Sunday night in the Orchestra area.

Without you I would have missed out.

You have made a Leonard Cohen fan very happy today!

All the best and thank you again,
John
