At this moment, it is "The Window" from Field Commander Cohen. so beauriffuuly recorded, every moment a gem. Gorgeous lyrics, such tenderness for anyone in emotional suffering. Anthem, If it Be Thy Will, Take this Longing, Bird on a Wire... Did someone actualy make mention that Felix Cavaliere wrote...

Well, I meant it literally. I came to the episcopal church via a friendship with a priest and his wife, who taught a comparative religion course in my undergrad studies. He ws a Harvard grad, old Deadhead aging hippie. I am a died-in-the-wool Anglophile with a love for ritual and am very visual, so ...

Amazing reading of " Ain;t no cure for love" as a double-entendre. I thing LC would approve. I find myself agreeing on this -- an "AHA!" moment.

I am in awe of the 19 year old organizing a fund raiser. I was so into myself at that age. This has got to be some kid!

The first time I heard cohen was while backpacking as a newly-liberated teenager fresh out of high school. A German and his spanish girlfriend had a tape player and a cohen album. We were camping on a beach in Gran Canaria. I remember listening to "the Master song" over and over, and Suzanne, and be...

Buddshists bow when they meet each other, to that which is eternal in every human. Our "sweet natures" if you will. I believe this was Leonard's bow to us. Simple and sincere. He has most certainly given me ever so much more than the pittance I have spent on his works. During this, the toughest year...

Dear Night, Your generous offer to share rare LC materials seems admirable, and you have gone to considerable trouble to do so. I am new to this furum, but assume someone has given you a hard time. I myself have decided to avail myself of your service (once I figure it out!), and extend my thanks.

"There's a blaze of light in EVERY word", or so the man says. I believe him. Thank you all who replied to this thread. I think the answers were remarkably in agreement, and my understanding of this song follows in this path as well. It is a great song to sing along to at the top of one's lungs. It i...

Well, I got a 96% physical match with the Leonard, emotional in the 90's, but intellectual next to nada. Guess what? I 'd rather be making love anyway! No one I am remotely attracted to was included in my "matches" (Kurt Russell? Baby Face? ). Thye don't even include Al Franken, whom I adore.....

Happy Birthday Leonard, indeed! I just realized I sent him a snail mail card wishing him a happy 70th, and it is his 69th. I guess I was thinking about the NYC meeting next year when he will (I hope) be seventy. I still feel like a bit of an idiot. Hope this has been a day of whatever he hoped it wo...

If Leonard were going to go bald, he would have done so in his 50's at the latest.

He just wants to wear his hair short. Myself, I found it glorious when it was longer, but I think he is makinghis life simpler as time goes on.

The moving hand writes, and, having writ, moves on (apologies to O. Khayam)

Perhaps we should move on as well.

Is this our battle?

Having never seen LC, I am purchasing tapes from someone who had the luck and foresight to tape him when he was on Austin City Limits in '88 and '93.

I think it would be great if LC himself could benefit from such sales -- perhaps some tapes of performances might be available in NYC next year?
