BBC Radio 4 News - inappropriate association

BBC Radio 4 tonight at 1925 hrs had an item on Israel and Iran - would there be conflict?? in the background, LEONARD SINGING "DANCE ME TO THE END OF LOVE" .......... I feel that this is a totally inappropriate choice of music to associate with this subject. a. Dance Me to the end of LOVE .............

paragraph in September Saga Magazine

[Saga magazine is a UK magazine for those aged over 50ish] first item in Index: Leonard Cohen hits the road again (page 11). page 11: Out there - with photo of Leonard, microphone in hand, lifting his hat, smiling. LEGEND HALLELUJAH FOR LEONARD COHEN! "I would love to hear me at 82," Leonard Cohen s...

Re: Buffy Sainte-Marie

she is wonderful ...
do catch her if you can in future; she is "the real deal".
[LC info from concert: initial backdrops of photographs of Buffy on a screen included one which appeared to show a very young Leonard Cohen holding out his hand to greet Buffy - and he looked absolutely delighted.]

Re: Buffy Sainte-Marie

Buffy gave an overview of her life as an artist/musician/human being. She answered questions from the audience and referred to her cd "Illuminations" - particularly with reference to her reading Leonard's "Beautiful Losers" and putting 'God Is Alive, Magic Is Afoot' to music. Tonight (Tuesday) she w...

Re: Julie Felix

John, good to read your posting. Julie plays The Stables in Hastings every year at this time - usually sold out, so book early! I think Julie has a project on the South Bank in September, but not involving her own specific choice of songs (ie not including Leonard's work). She certainly keeps her pa...

Julie Felix

Julie Felix performed in Hastings (south east coast England) last night. Wonderful as always. Julie performed Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye, plus Hallelujah. Julie is always very generous with her respect for Leonard. She relates how she lived on Idra and knew him, plus how she and Leonard appea...

Re: Judy Collins at Leicester Square Theatre, Sunday 22nd Ap

Beautiful Judy Collins! She looked glorious (dressed in black and sparkling); her voice still "like an amethyst". Judy sang Suzanne, and remembered and thanked Leonard for asking her why she did not write her own songs - thus beginning a new branch of her life. I had phoned to enquire about concert ...
