Re: empty in a small eden

Wow Gullivor.

That's a hell of a letter. You are so very brave. Courage like yours – against pretty impossible odds – is humbling.

May the force be with you. Always.

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Miami, March 20, 2013

Thank you for the sweet review, Hydrogal.
Very dear friends of ours, who went with us to LC's concerts in Montreal, San Jose and Vegas, were at the Miami concert last night.
Wish I could have been there with them. I'll forward them the link to this thread.

Re: Rain!

In Vancouver, winter weather consists mainly of rain, with the occasional, short-lived snowfall. This winter, I have taken to wearing a hat, instead of carrying the usual, ubiquitous umbrella. Initially, the intent was to keep both hands free for all the stuff I seem to lug around, but then I discov...

Re: Sad news: Arlene Dick has passed away

Arlene was a legend on this forum, with her fearlessness and humour. I was very pleased to meet her at the San Jose and Vegas concerts. My favourite 'Arlene' post: I just received a note from my 10 year old granddaughter away at summer camp and I can't stop laughing. Here it as exactly as she wrote ...

Re: empty in a small eden

A wonderful poem Abby. Thank you. One summer in the '80s, we drove to New Mexico and back, in a VW van. I am best living closer to the ocean, I don't enjoy feeling landlocked. But New Mex is an unusual place. The sense of vastness and open space there is astounding. The air is so extraordinarily cle...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Victoria, Canada - Mar 6 2013

Oh I love the seagull story, as well as your friend's enthusiastic email, Leslie! Almost (but not quite) makes up for my not being able to attend the Victoria concert. (We have a seagull who thinks he works at our office in downtown Vancouver. He flies up to the windowsill with little offerings – a ...

Re: Without You

Hello Boss, Earlier this week, a radio host asked this old standard toward the end of an interview: 'When you look back on your life, do you have any regrets?' The response (paraphrased): 'I suppose I have the same regrets as many people do. I wasn't brave enough. And I wasn't kind enough.' Nice to ...

Re: There is a man who lives beside the ocean.

To me, this is a practical man, not a dreamer. He doesn't allow himself to be seduced by the magical mysterious lure of the sea. Only when he wakes in the middle of the night, is his imagination be vulnerable to the sea's persuasion. He shuts it out before it can breach his defences. I keep coming b...

Re: The Master Song

Thanks for pointing this post out Mat – On reading it, I thought – 'Of course. That's it. All the pieces fit together, naturally.' (always preferred storytelling to preaching anyway)

Wonder if angelcarnivore took his/her forum name from the song... ?
