Funny you should use the phrase, "just live and let live". Under the out-workings of Ramesh Balseker's religious philosophy, if I kill my neighbor--hey, no problem. I'm not the doer...I'm merely a mind/body mechanism (an object) that has been pre-programmed by the "Source/Consciousness." It's too ba...

For a long time I thought LC was singing in the song Democracy about "getting lost in that hopeless little scream"

Am I the only one who finds LC's latest guru's religious philosophy repugnant in the extreme? I'm talking about Ramesh Balsekar's pantheistic--no need for forgiveness--everyone is just pre-programmed to do the things they do--amoral universe. And THIS is what has brought peace and contentment to LC?...

Hello Lizzytysh, I'm not the one setting the parameters. I don't think prohibiting the taking of another man's wife and then murdering the man to hide the adultery is being "pretty rigid." Do you? That's why the use of David and Bath-sheba as some kind of metaphor for spiritual sexuality doesn't wash.

Lizzy, I also don't discount the emotive power of this song in the listener. But that is primarily due to the ambiguity of his lyrics (where the lyrics aren't ambiguous he's just plain wrong). For instance, the lines: "all I ever seemed to learn from love was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you"...

Hello Lizzytysh, It’s not that sex and God don’t go together…It’s that they go together only within certain parameters and only when there is accountability. Leonard’s Cohen’s use of the story of David and Bath-sheba in “Hallelujah” reveals his usual muddle-headed ideas about sex and spirituality. T...

Lovely. Your plan to insult the "old folks" while enlightening them at the same time is masterful. If anybody in the congregation has got a clue, they'll tell you this song is no more about God than it is the Man in the Moon.

Hello Mamalex, How does one do that "seperate an artist from their work" when the artist in question is Leonard Cohen? I thought his poetry and songs were a distillation of his life. As for Polanski, sure a man can be an artistic genius and be a horrible person in his private life...but I still thin...

The accusations this writer makes are very disturbing. I hope she is just some crazy lady. But if she isn't crazy and the accusations are true then LC is a fraud.

Dear Lizzytysh, I glad that you admire the work ethic of the immigrant. I admire it too. But you seem to harbor the belief that only the immigrant from the "other areas of the world (Japan, China, India, Greece and the "Arab world"), have these wonderful qualities. Every previous immigrant group to ...

I know this is not a popular thing to say...but eey is right. India was messed up long before the british or the americans got there...and it is because of their religious caste system...many on this board urge others to look at things with an unbiased eye...it seems as if everthing western is abhor...

I read where Spector tipped $500 on the night of the tragedy. Somehow I can't picture LC being that extravagant.
