Re: How were you first introduced to the words of Leonard Cohen?
There was never a moment of epiphany for me - Lenny kinda crept up on me over the years. My earliest memory of Lenny is from around 1970. I remember seeing the cover of Songs of Leonard Cohen each time I browsed through my brother's collection of LPs. Apparently, my brother bought the album after he...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
I expected that the hawk-eyed members will ask what the "summer leg" means, but nobody asked... I assumed a "summer leg" of the tour in Europe implied an "autumn leg" of the tour in North America, but thanks for the clarification. I guess we're gonna get two cracks at the whip, so to speak, maybe s...

Re: What venue is everyone hoping for in London?...
Leonard and very big venues are a serious contadiction in terms. Let's hope nothing bigger than RAH!...far better that Leonard should charge more for tickets and keep the venues relatively intimate. Brian Wilson has the right idea...he does six nights at the Royal Festival Hall for around £50 per t...

So, if the Albert Hall is big, does this make the O2 "very big"?jarkko wrote:The summer leg of the 2008 tour is expected to go to very big venues only!

Hmmm... I love this guessing game.

Re: Anyone remember Felicity Buirski?
Thanks for the link Michael. :) I didn't know she had a career in modelling and acting. Apparently she was a page three girl, the Sure deoderant advert girl, appeared in The Benny Hill Show , and was in the Joan Collins movie The Stud . Hmmm... It seems Buirski only released one more album, then dis...

Anyone remember Felicity Buirski?
I was rummaging through some old CDs the other day and came across the album, Repairs & Alterations by Felicity Buirski. I hadn't listened to the CD in years and years and had forgotten how good it was. The album came out in 1987, but I bought it after hearing Lenny on a phone-in radio show in Londo...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
I really hope Glastonbury isnt the only one in the UK...And I really would like a "just Cohen" concert, Im not a fan of festivals at all...But hey if thats all I can get, Im gonna have to settle :( I feel the same way, but Lenny at Glastonbury would be special. :D http://farm3.static.flickr.com/205...

Re: WANT DETAILS OF LEONARD'S TOUR???
Even if you're a way with no constant internet access I do believe that the tickes won't be sold out 2 minutes after the announcement. So i wouldn't worry too much. I don't wanna make people worry too much :D but tickets for Tom Waits' London concert in 2004 sold out in 20 minutes! Apparently, ther...

Re: What venue is everyone hoping for in London?...
All three of those venues are great, but I'm guessing the Barbican and Festival Hall are too small, so the Albert Hall seems the best option.
Hammersmith Apollo is another possible venue. Let's just hope it's not the O2 - a 20,000 seated arena is just too big.

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
According to the Irish Times article mentioned above: "He has already been confirmed as one of the headliners for this summer's Glastonbury Festival and is also expected to play a run of shows at London's O2 Arena" -D I do hope Lenny's not playing the O2 Arena - it's a great arena, but way too big ...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
I love how Lenny's name is top of the bill on that poster.
Just a thought, if Lenny's playing a festival in Spain then doesn't that raise the chances of him playing the Glastonbury Festival after all...? I've registered my name on the Glastonbury site just in case.

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
I do sooooo hope that Leonard Cohen will play somewhere in the UK other than Glastonbury...otherwise I may have to hop on a train to Europe and find him there. Perhaps it will have to be Berlin....... I'm 99% sure Lenny will be playing London, probably the Albert Hall again. I wouldn't mind having ...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
Obviously the demand for tickets will be very high, and the 'ticket agencies'/touts will be gobbling up large numbers, so does anyone know if there could be a 'presale'? I would like to think that forum members (perhaps registered before the tour announcement - to hinder opportunists looking for a ...
