Re: UK CONCERTS
I think I will give this one a miss and let the 'younger' generation stand around for hours listening to lesser groups while waiting for Leonard. As far as I can tell, this will be a seated concert and nothing like the usual Hop Farm Festivals where you stand and lots of bands appear on stage. If t...

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT announced
I have Row A too, which sounds good, but Seat 87, which I'm not so confident about.
I thought I had a good seat in Dublin and it turned out to be way off to one side. I'd rather be central and back a few rows than right at the front and on the side. Shame there wasn't a seating plan before ordering.

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT announced
Re Hop Farm being difficult to get to, it's only 15 miles from the M25, so pretty easy for anyone travelling by car from London. I live in Essex and have taken my son for a day out at Hop Farm in the past. I think it'll be a nicer venue than Weybridge. If the weather comes up trumps then it'll be be...

Re: Hop Farm UK 8 Sept announced
Some of the Hop Farm Festival headline acts in recent years have been oldies like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, and Dylan is doing Hop Farm again this year, so I think Leonard will attract some of the same crowd of people. If it's a hot, sunny day, then it could be great, or it could be anoth...

Re: Hop Farm UK 8 Sept announced
I saw Dylan at Hop Farm a couple of years ago, a nice place, but would have preferred an indoor venue.

Old Ideas - Various Chart Positions
I thought it might be fun to have a thread where folks from around the world can post the chart position of Old Ideas in their local country. I was looking on Wikipedia and LC's highest placed album on the UK charts was for Songs From A Room which reached #2 in 1969. Songs of LC reached #10 and Song...

Re: Eye of the Camp
It says Camp on the album liner notes.
The first image I had was of a concentration camp, but I was wondering what others thought?
Why the capital letters for Eye and Camp?

"Eye of the camp" line in "Amen"?
Tell me again
When the filth of the butcher
Is washed in the blood of the lamb
Tell me again
When the rest of the culture
Has passed thru' the Eye of the Camp
Anyone got an interpretation of this lyric?

Re: OLD IDEAS Streaming
The quality of the streaming audio is pretty poor, so it's not going to lead to piracy. Some folks here won't like this, but the album is already available in CD quality on all the file-sharing sites. To be fair, so is just about every other album on the planet - it's just the way things are these d...

Re: Old Ideas ...entire cd NPR radio
I just had my first listen to the album. For me Amen and Show Me The Place are the standout tracks. I would have liked a few more faster tempo songs. Overall, I'd say it's a far better album than Dear Heather , but falls short of Cohen's classic recordings. I'll go and have another listen now... :)

Re: Listen to the first official radio single
by David D. Robbins Jr. Leonard Cohen’s latest single, “Darkness”, sounds like his version of the road-weary old-timer moods Bob Dylan captured on 1997′s “Time Out of Mind”. I'd probably prefer a fade out to end this kind of track in its studio form. Interesting. I agree with both those comments. :...
