Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

Say a prayer for the cowboy
His mare's run away
And he'll walk til he finds her
His darling, his stray
but the river's in flood
and the roads are awash
and the bridges break up
in the panic of loss.
Bye, Leonard!

Re: To A Photographer

More than five years after her death I can feel free to reveal that the photographer of this poem was our late great friend Sue Stark, the beautiful Spirit of the chat room.

Some still feel the loss.

Re: sailors in bars

Thank you all.

Linda, I don't know about the Laureate returning? Was Byron absent as well?

Cate, I don't mind, of course not. The Lounge once was a nice and cozy spot before we all deserted it for a couple of years. I guess it still could be, but...

It's not the content alone that makes a poem, but it's the details, and that's where this attempt definitely falls short. Laurie's remarks are to the point, but I want to add a remark on the line breaks: They don't constitute a pattern, they're arbitrary. Artbitrary linebreaks, however, usually indi...

Dear Andrew, plagiarism never was a thought that had come to my mind. I only mentioned thoses images because you managed to make them your own by putting them into a completely different context. See you around, talk to you some more elsewhere... Cheers tom PS: Whatever you told me, contained a usef...

Lovely couple, beautiful poem, Andrew. I particularly like the 'apple-heart' and 'twinned to the world' lines, and the way you made them appear in a context made of 'happiness and dimes'...
