Re: belfast here he comes

Looking forward to seeing LC in Belfast although somehow to me for some reason it seems a strange mix and does not entirely feel right but I am sure it will be a good night with a warm welcome.

I wonder did the tickets all sell as there seemed to be an adverse reaction to the prices?

Re: CONCERT REPORTS: Dublin, July 19, 20, 22, 23

Just back from Dublin. Was in Jury's prior to the concert but did not meet anyone from the board! The show did not have the complete magic and surprise of the Kilmainham concert last year (but very very close!!) when LC and the band were completely taken aback by the crowd reaction, seemed more natu...

Re: Dublin preconcert meetups

Hope to be at Jury's Inn before the concert. What time are people meeting? Staying at the Maldron Hotel, Cardiff Lane Saturday and Sunday nights which appears to be a short walk from Jury's and the O2. Has anybody any suggestion of a good music venue / theatre or any entertaiment that I could go to ...

Support Act : Lisa Hannigan?

I have not heard if there is any support artist for the summer tour but Lisa Hannigan would in my opinion be ideally suited. Her beautiful voice, emotion, songs and also at times lightheartedness would be a perfect compliment for the atmosphere of the current Leonard Cohen tour. If the promoters are...

Re: Pre-sales to Dublin and Belfast

Amazed at the ticket sales and announcement of the third might. Does this say something about the Irish psyche at the moment? I thought if a third date had been announced in Dublin that it would have been the Saturday night the 18th (and had gambled by booking an hotel)but obviously not. Might have ...

Re: Pre-sales to Dublin and Belfast

Unfortunately the ticket scalpers/touts appear to have got their hands on some of the best tickets for both Belfast and Dublin (on sale at e-bay)through the fan presale (and openly stating this!). I wish this practice could be sorted so that the real music fan is not dis-advantaged. Some artists suc...

Re: Pre-sales to Dublin and Belfast

Even though I have bought a ticket and booked an hotel I am not that happy really with the ticketmaster process (when I went to purchase a few times I was knocked out each time and had to go back and input the details again and lost the original ticket) and cynical about the ticket allocation, the p...

Re: Dublin (June 13-15)

I am still in a different world after the 14th June experience but I can also sympathise with the views on the 'open air' concert. I was near the front and virtually motionless as I was mesmerized by the experience but my enjoyment was lessened by the amount of activity and walking around in my peri...

Re: Glastonbury (June 29)

Respect to Leonard if it was his choice not to be recorded or broadcast. I have 100% faith in his humility and total respect for and trust of LC. He has provided such joy through his music and poetry and by touring again. If he decided not to be recorded that is the right decision as far as I am con...

Re: Dublin (June 13-15)

The Leonard Cohen concert in Dublin on Saturday night was for me a truely outstanding experience which surpassed my high expectations. This is truely an event that anyone should not miss. Anyone going to dates on the remainder of the tour are in for a special once in a lifetime experience. Everythin...

Re: Dublin, June 14-15 and now also 13!!!

I queued this morning from well before 9am until after 09.15 at the Ticketmaster outlet at Cool Discs in Derry and guess what, it did not open (in spite of Cool Discs assuring a woman standing with me that it would definitely be open at 9am)It was then too late to phone or go home and go on the inte...
