Re: Verona on sale today at noon local time (Wed)????

I don't know what is happening in Italy. According to confirmed sales schedule we will have the presale tomorrow (Thursday) and the public sale will begin on Friday. I have emailed both AEG and the Italian promotor, no answer yet. "I don't know what is happening in Italy" ~ Jarkko, this could serve...

Re: Newspaper article in Verona, Italy

Prosecco crisps, now there's an idea. Espresso with a shot of sambucca - lovely - like drinking licorice. The arena is a gorgeous setting. Any ticket price info yet? Just so I can be sure I can afford the prosecco.

It's all kicking off....

It's all kicking off for me... Rumours of Cohen in Verona (gorgeous venue!) and rumours of Dylan in Cortona (half an hour away)... It might be an expensive summer!!! BTW, is anyone else struck by the quality of contributors to the LCF compared to the Expecting Rain (Dylan) message boards?

A little more to add. According to Dylan's engineer on Love & Theft, there is Scott Litt ~ Of REM production fame ~ involvement. Curiouser and curiouser....

Re: Leonard Cohen as muse

Congratulations on the novel Beth. I find him inspirational but as much for his take on life (interviews etc..) as for poems and songs. Sometimes the things he says in interview are so well considered and always on the side of compassion I think he's someone I'd always pay attention to. I met him in...

Re: Anjani and Leonard?

Don't know why people get so defensive. A simple yes or know might suffice rather than admonishments.... but I think it means "we don't know" or something like that. Curiosity that's all... hence the high number of viewings for this post.

Re: Forthcoming Dylan Album

No problem. Here's more: David Hildago (from Los Lobos) is on it playing "Mexican" instruments. It was recorded at Jackson Brownes studio in Los Angeles over an unusually long period for Dylan ~ about 9 weeks.... he's been known to do an album in 3 days! It's said to have a producer which might be C...

Forthcoming Dylan Album

By all accounts Dylan has recorded a new album. I hope it's of the standard we have come to expect from septagenarians. Otherwise I'll have to call him in for a word....

Re: World tour or not 2012

It's all gone very quiet on the tour speculation front this week... and with no further news on Ireland - if it was true - I suspect it's not happening this summer. ;-(

Re: Old Ideas - Memorable lines

TipperaryAnn wrote:"And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace... " from "Come Healing".

That just about sums it up, I think.
Spot on ~ we usually think only of a grace as something we don't deserve... LC emphasises detachment... even the "gates of mercy" are in "arbitrary space"

Lizzy ~ Even with "tube" & not "tune" you're still absolutely spot on regarding his humility here.

Re: Misheard Lyrics

I once heard a friend singing Dylan's Slow Train. When she got to the lines "Fools glorifying themselves, trying to manipulate Satan"... she sang, "Fools glorify themselves trying to mend the village Satan" ... Her defence was that Dylan often writes cryptic songs... On another occasion she transmog...
