Re: Liam Clancy

RIP. I can't confess to knowing much about him but he is widely regarded in the folk music scene with Bob Dylan having said he was an early influence.
Love that poem Bequia. Patrick Kavanagh is one of my favourite poets.

Re: Annual Playboy Music Poll

I just voted. It will be a close call between Leonard, Brucie and U2 I'd say. Having being lucky enough to have seen all 3 in concert in the space of 2 weeks in July this year all are deserving winners but for me it has to be Leonard as he was just magical.

Re: Sleeping with Leonard

musicmania rather listen to No Way To Say Goodbye and Take This Waltz, Go No More. If you can not sleep, then dancing with Leonard. :D ;-) I would have my mp3 player with Leonards songs on shuffle and therefore not know what was coming next. Each song song would be a pleasant surprise and I'd get m...

Re: Sleeping with Leonard

I have often fell asleep listening to Leonards music. However I had to stop listening that late because if I fell asleep before Hallelujah came on I'd wake up singing along to it and then be wide awake for hours after!!!!

Re: Leonard Cohen: Hallelujah: A New Biography by Tim Footman

I'm about half way through at the minute but I did cheat and read the appendix about Hallelujah at the end while I should have been sleeping last night  Once I did put the book down at 4am I was so tired that I had every version of the song going through my head!!!!! Any way back to the book. ...

Re: Bruce Springsteen new albúm !

Hi Diane, just had alook at the video and I love it. Not only did Brucie gradually get more into the song, the same can also be said about the audience. Can't believe that was 11 years ago! He looks younger now than he did then LOL I LOVE acoustic music so especially love when my favourite artists d...

Re: The final poster

I would like to get this blown up too. What is the biggest people gone for without distortion. I got it printed a little bigger than A3 as that was the biggest they could do for me in work & then managed to find a perfect fitting blue and gold frame. It is now a focal point in my living room :D I r...

Re: Cohen, Springsteen, V. Morrison, Dylan & the Stones

I cannot & will not attempt to even choose between Len & Brucie. I love them both & I agree with what you said in your post about Brucies gigs Diane. He like Len is BRILLIANT live. I saw them both within a 12 day period this year & thoroughly enjoyed both gigs & both give me a warm feeling when I th...

Re: Bruce Springsteen new albúm !

Musicmania, as you mentioned I'm on Fire, I don't know if you've heard this cover by Sara Bareilles which you may or may not like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhysu3peJek Just had a listen. It's not bad but give me Brucie any day. I'm not really a fan of covers as a rule. She has a good voice th...
