Re: Leonard Cohen of mobile generation ?

Lizzy, you CAN have a soundtrack of this concert (and most of others uploaded on YT), just look here:
http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

mirka

(ps.
turns out the site above allows clips of up to 20 min. only, you'll have to find short clips of the concert, more work but still possible)

Re: Leonard Cohen of mobile generation ?

Glad you liked it, Lizzy :D He says he sings "in order to connect with the people". On day of the organized gig usually sings in the street of the city/village (has been singing in the streets of European cities for a couple of years before making it into the stream of festivals/organized gigs and ...

Re: Help with Last Wish of Terminally Ill Gentleman

Unfortunately, if you look at Leonard's Facebook page there is probably one of these requests at least once a week. There was one made Sunday, in fact. Not to mention all the requests for some acknowledgement during a concert of the birthday of a parent or spouse or the anniversary of ... Marie, I'...

Re: Help with Last Wish of Terminally Ill Gentleman

It's not about my personal curiosity. I feel that b/c the plea was made public, the outcome could be public as well -- just as a closure to another bittersweet piece of life. I don't believe (and certainly hope) there could be more cases like this. Feel awfully sorry for the ill fan and his daugthe...

Re: Help with Last Wish of Terminally Ill Gentleman

I hope that management doesn't receive many requests from terminally ill fans and that Mike and his daughter get to see LC in person.
Wishing both of them strength.

Re: Never thought I'd see the day...

[...]However, crocodile anxiety aside, those beach holidays were so idyllic : we had no power, so used stoves fuelled by firewood and had kerosene lantern or carbide lamp lighting, and the windows of one "shack" consisted of hinged sections of the wall that you propped open with long pieces of wood...

Re: Never thought I'd see the day...

Hi Andrew, so you grew up in Cairns ? I wonder how was the life there xx years ago. Last year me and my husband we spent a little more then a week in Clifton Beach, with a side trip to Cape Tribulation for snorkeling. The area felt very exotic and attractive for tropical vacations, although I could...

Re: Never thought I'd see the day...

I don't remember Lizzy if we met those days, sorry - it was so long ago (15+ years!) and I don't remember names, I just remember some strange details: Australians complaining lack of LC's CDs down under, a fan from Taiwan whom I asked about 3 times if he really was in Taiwan  I remember the t...

Re: Never thought I'd see the day...

I never thought I'd see the day when Leonard's concerts were being promoted so heavily in provincial Australia: I'm in Cairns right now.... [...] Cheers, Andrew :) What's next after Cairns and Townsville, Leonard's concert on the beach at Cape Tribulation   ? The End of the World must...
