On That Day

I really like this song and think it's about as elequent and isnightful piece of art i've seen or heard on that subject. i particualy like leonard's vocal, it's deep and resonant and really brings a poignancy to the 'women unveiled/ slaves and our gold' lines which someone else may not have carried ...

anybody notice how fond leonard is of those grey shirts? he must have a wardrobe full. they are wonderfully elegant.

Leonard's Hat

What exactly do you call this type of hat? and where can i find one to purchase? and will i, not being a famous poet or man of great style and vintige dignity, look like an idiot wearing one? i also like the grey shirts he wears so frequently in concert, who makes them do you suppose? http://chicago...

September

September The dead leaves sound Like dead time falling...

The Cause Of Snow The night they promised snow I sat listening quietly to the radio falling in and out of the dark The words filled with alarm, “Arctic winds and black ice, And falling temperatures Will find the morning lost In snow and snow and snow.” The voice lost in static, As though muffled by...

Re: Hotel Villanelle

thanks mat. i'm appalling at punctuation. i can't make it work. spelling i can improve but still after so many years i struggle with punctuation. so i thank you for help and will make the adjustments. the archaic flow is down to the form, which is very stately and old fashioned... about the only poe...

Re: tumors of the lips- calling the travelling pack of poets

heck, so many lovely responses. i read this on the eve of spring as cate identifies. so nice to witness such nakedness, particularly now the warm weather has come. i really liked the spring poems and i thank you all for responding to my original request and not dismissing me for all my pointedness. ...

Re: tumors of the lips- calling the travelling pack of poets

some beautfiul poems. i love cate's... especially 'To this moist earth she places her mouth and draws a stream, led by her tongue;' i feel i'm being seduced in the reading. i will reflect fully in time... i will let it settle in my mind and mouth and speak more. here is my naked utterance to spring....

Re: tumors of the lips- calling the travelling pack of poets

Ok, ok, I apologise cate, you make me sound like a cross between hugh hefner and charles manson. That was not my attention. I came here to cultivate something. It was not entrapment or some sordid solicitation or orgy. I was merely endeavoring to readdress the balance away from the self aware smugge...

Re: meet me downtown tonight, and wear that green sweater

i like this. i see it more as a musical piece. that probably dosen't help.
it's about the intoxication that takes over you- the type that warm winds, summer evenings, women and wine bring. sigh.

Re: tumors of the lips- calling the travelling pack of poets

'teasing ...laughing, yelling eyes screaming falling, ...
