Re: Life of a song - Famous Blue Raincoat

Found that I would need to Subscribe, too, and don't do Twitter, so can't get to it that way, either. :(

Re: EVENT POSTPONED

Dear Maarten and Co. ~ I thought for sure that by the time I reached the end of this thread, a decision as to year would have been announced, but not so the case. Thank you from me, as well, on the tremendous amount of work that all of you have already done to make the Ghent Event a great success. I...

Re: Linda Sturgess has passed away

This is from Christopher Minko: "R.I.P. : Linda Sturgess Very sad to hear of the passing of a good friend Linda Sturgess who, before retiring, was a french horn player with the New York Symphony Orchestra. Whilst I never met Linda in person we became good musical friends over the net and she kindly ...

Re: Producer Hal Willner has passed away

Such a huge loss to music, and all who love it, everywhere. And to people who knew him, for his humanity and love. Tom Waits posted an amazing personal tribute to Hal. May you rest forever in eternal peace, Hal. Thank you for bringing us so far for beauty.

Re: Paola Pigozzi has passed away

Oh, no!! Paola was one of the Italians (along with Andrea and Marco) whom I've worried so much about when COVID-19 began to ravage. I'll always remember how much fun we had together when we inserted ourselves together in the wooden 'stockade' (I can't remember the word, but head in one slot and each...

Re: Linda Sturgess has passed away

Oh, dear. This news is very very sad. I've only just seen this announcement. I am so very sorry to hear it. Shocking. Linda did so many things to positively contribute here! Her contributions were lasting, and I'm sure Leonard appreciated them, as well. Lasting, real-time documentation cannot be dup...

I saw this the day after. Thanks for posting it, anyway. I hope it went well, solongleonard, and by your reports, it likely did.

Re: Leonard and Corona

Why am I not surprized that you created the Hallelujah one, musicmania?? :D Maybe I knew, but had forgotten?? ;-) I have a loosely-formed theory on many of us doing okay through this. I pray it proves out. We are word people. We have decades of listening carefully to words and discerning the meaning...

I saw that, too, except it had lyrics from Hallelujah. ❤ Identical graphics, though. Clearly a Leonard Cohen person created the memes.

Yes, me, too, Wendy!! I would want to see the elements that you missed. With both San Fran and L.A. being in California, I hope they'll at least do the recreation and the hologram. I'm going to focus very hard on being able to get to San Fran for it.

Re: Leonard exhibition now in Copenhagen

I am hoping that the exhibition will be complete when it comes to San Francisco. I missed the Montreal one by one day. I missed the New York one because of the hurricane that cancelled my flight. I was hoping the Copenhagen one would go longer, so that Ghent and it could be merged, but many months s...

Re: New Leonard Cohen biography by Sylvie Simmons

Hi Fred ~ !! Such a comprehensive commentary on Leonard that carried me through so many years and memories. I love the concept of 36 men, and when Leonard died, it felt like "The Last of the Just" is now gone, though I knew nothing of Lamed Vov. I also like how you have tied Leonard's loss of his fa...
